Description
Your mission
We are F/A/Q Health – a social business operating at the intersection of health, culture and community. Our mission is to empower young people to make informed decisions about their health while building the digital infrastructure that enables them to do so. Through our flagship brand FAQ YOU we are developing the next-generation health companion.
We believe that health is not an institutional issue, but a cultural one. That's why we engage young people where identity and community are formed, guiding them from awareness to knowledge, services and meaningful action. Through our "Full Circle" approach, we combine reach, trust and cultural relevance to turn attention into real impact. Because the greatest challenge in healthcare is not a lack of information – it's turning information into action.
As a Business Development & Partnerships Fellow, you will help us build the relationships, opportunities, and collaborations that fuel our growth. You will support the identification of new partners, sponsorships, campaigns, and strategic opportunities while helping position F/A/Q Health as one of Africa's most innovative youth health organisations.
Over the course of six months, you will gain hands-on experience in business development, partnership management, stakeholder engagement, fundraising, sponsorship development and commercial growth. You will work directly with senior leadership and contribute to initiatives that shape the future of youth health across the region.
What success looks like:
New partnership opportunities identified and developed Stronger relationships with strategic stakeholders and decision-makers Increased visibility for F/A/Q Health across relevant sectors and networks Contributions to sponsorship, campaign, and funding opportunities Improved partnership systems, tracking, and opportunity management
Your tasks
Research and identify potential partners across the private sector, government, philanthropy, media, and civil society Build and maintain prospect lists, stakeholder databases, and opportunity trackers Support partnership outreach, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management Assist with sponsorship proposals, concept notes, presentations, and partnership materials Monitor funding, sponsorship, event, and collaboration opportunities Support meetings, events, conferences, and stakeholder engagements Conduct market and ecosystem research to identify growth opportunities Track partnership pipelines and contribute to reporting and opportunity management Support the development of strategic partnerships that strengthen F/A/Q Health's impact, visibility, and sustainability Contribute to positioning F/A/Q Health as a leading youth health and culture platform across Africa
Your profile
Available for a six-month part-time fellowship (from July) Based in or near Johannesburg and able to attend one in-person working day per week Comfortable working independently and collaborating remotely throughout the week Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent research, organisation, and stakeholder management abilities Interested in business development, partnerships, sponsorships, fundraising, entrepreneurship, communications, or social impact Reliable, proactive, and eager to contribute in a fast-paced environment Excited to learn from experienced professionals through hands-on mentorship Passionate about youth culture, innovation, and creating meaningful social impact We are particularly interested in people who have taken initiative.
This could include:
Building a startup, side hustle, or community project Leading a student society or youth initiative Securing sponsorships or partnerships Organising events or campaigns Growing a digital platform or community Developing creative or entrepreneurial projects Formal industry experience is not required. We value curiosity, initiative, professionalism, and the ability to create opportunities.
