    "description": "<h2>Job Summary</h2>\n<p><strong>Position Title: </strong>Medical Specialty Registered Nurse (RN) </p>\n<p><strong>Location: </strong>Miami VAMC (Main Campus) </p>\n<p><strong>Work Schedule</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Shift: </strong>8:00am – 4:30pm (most clinics); 7:30am – 4:00pm (advanced clinics such as Bronchoscopy or Allergy). </li>\n</ul>\n<p> <strong>Position Overview</strong> </p>\n<p>The Medical Specialty Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive outpatient nursing care within specialty clinics, supporting a wide range of services including Dermatology, PM&R, Cardiology, Nephrology, Podiatry, CT/MRI, Neurology, Allergy, Gynecology, Pulmonary, Infectious Disease, Arthritis, Diabetes, Endocrinology, Hematology-Oncology, and Hepatology. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, Veteran-centered care, ensuring timely assessments, safe procedures, and effective patient education. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Primary Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Collaborate with specialty care providers in scheduling and providing care to Veterans. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Implement the nursing process, including: </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Performing physical and psychosocial assessments. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Completing assessments within required timeframes. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Identifying priority patient needs and planning care accordingly. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Participate in the development, review, and ongoing revision of interdisciplinary care plans. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform telephone triage and support access to care. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Prepare patients for injections and minor procedures. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Detect subtle changes in patient condition, anticipate emergencies, and take appropriate action. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide individualized patient and family education, including health promotion. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Deliver holistic, Veteran-centered outpatient care and contribute to continuous improvement. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Responsible for: </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Patient assessments </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Transfers (internal and external) </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Documentation in electronic medical records </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Delegation to assistive personnel </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Patient transport and emergency response procedures </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Minimum Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in a U.S. State, Territory, or the District of Columbia. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). </li>\n <li>At least three (3) years of experience in an outpatient setting with demonstrated competency in telemetry and acute care.</li>\n <li>Strong clinical assessment skills, with ability to recognize abnormal findings and respond appropriately. </li>\n <li>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Effective communication and customer service skills to promote teamwork and patient satisfaction. </li>\n  </ul>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Reliable, flexible, and self-directed with strong organizational skills. </li>\n  </ul>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Leadership ability to function as a charge nurse/team leader as needed. </li>\n  </ul>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Verbal and written proficiency in English.
