    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><span>***This position requires an active Secret clearance. ***</span></p><p>Provide support with laboratory experiments in BSL-2, BSL-3 and BSL-4 laboratories and thus must hold and maintain BPRP status, IAW the provisions in this contract and applicable regulations.&nbsp; Aid in the execution of scientific studies, basic cell culture, and plaque assays, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and other assays, animal procedures, collection/data analyzing, and maintaining laboratory and laboratory equipment.</p><p><strong>Compensation &amp; Benefits:</strong></p><p>Estimated Starting Salary Range for&nbsp;Laboratory Technician III Research Technical Support: $70,000- $75,000/ year</p><p>Full-time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided.&nbsp;Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.</p><p><strong>Laboratory Technician III Research Technical Support Responsibilities Include:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Supports small and large animal studies in BSL-2, BSL-3, and BSL-4 laboratories.</li><li>Performs inoculations with virus, vaccine, or applicable testing material.</li><li>Collects tissues for processing and conducts blood sample collection.</li><li>Performs in vitro testing of candidate vaccines and therapeutic compounds against a variety of viruses.</li><li>Prepares cell culture media and other study supplies, including paperwork, as necessary.</li><li>Performs immunological procedures including enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and Western Blot assays.</li><li>Performs basic cell culture, plaque assays (PA), plaque reduction neutralization test (PRNT), PCR, and other assays to support NHP and rodent studies.</li><li>Performs basic lab management duties, such as assessing, maintaining, and ordering lab supplies.</li><li>Assists with the annual conduct of Equipment Inventory Management in BSL-2 and BSL-3.</li><li>May serve as a BSL-2 mentor.</li><li>Performs other job-related duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><strong>Laboratory Technician III Research Technical Support Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Biology, or a related field and 1+ years lab experience.</li><li>Skilled with basic Molecular Biology Assays: ELISA, Western Blot, Plaque Assays, PRNT assays, PCR, etc.</li><li>Skilled with animal handling for large and small animals, including NHPs and rodents.</li><li>Ability to perform animal inoculations, blood and tissue collection, and sample processing.</li><li>Working knowledge/ability to learn GFEBs ordering system.</li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills.</li><li>Excellent organizational skills.</li><li>Ability to multi-task in a high-paced environment.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills.</li><li>Prior experience in BSL-2, BSL-3, and BSL-4 biocontainment labs is preferred.</li><li>Must have an active <strong>Secret Clearance</strong>.</li><li>Ability to pass a US Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for participation in the BPRP.</li><li>US citizenship.</li><li>Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.</li></ul><p><strong>Company Information:</strong></p><p><strong>Cherokee Nation Integrated Health (CNIH)</strong> is a part of Cherokee Federal – the division of tribally owned federal contracting companies owned by Cherokee Nation Businesses.
