Compensation Salary Schedule Overview Under general supervision, the purpose of this position is to perform school-based duties associated with registering, withdrawing, and maintaining electronic student records for a career and technical center. Responsibilities and Qualifications EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Responds to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, courteous and empathetic manner representing OCPS in a positive light.Assists students with applying, testing, and registering for the technical center.Assists students with generating email accounts.Inputs and updates student records in CampusVue.Maintains student industry certification and job placement data in CampusVue.Generates and verifies student transcripts and certificates.Based on area of assignment maybe required to collect tuition or other monies.Fulfills historical transcript requests.Administers state-required tests.Assists teachers with electronic record keeping in CampusVue.Assists database coordinator with FTE error reports.Assists guidance counselor with student recordkeeping functions.Maintains a filing system for all student-related records.Answers the telephone to provide assistance and information to the public.Greets and assists visitors and staff members.Maintains a professional atmosphere in the office.Operates a variety of machinery, equipment, and tools associated with department activities, which may include a postage machine, fax, scanner, and copier.Responsible for timely and accurate reporting.Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attends training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification. It is not necessarily descriptive of any one position in the class. The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such functions are a logical assignment to the position. MARGINAL FUNCTIONS While the following tasks are necessary for the work of the unit, they are not an essential part of the purpose of this position and may also be performed by other unit members.Front desk coverage. MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE High School diploma or GED; supplemented by up to two (2) years previous experience and/or training involving clerical or secretarial work, or any equivalent combination of related education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential job functions. PERFORMANCE APTITUDES Data Utilization : Requires the ability to evaluate, audit, deduce, and/or assess data and/or information using established criteria. Includes exercise of discretion in determining actual or probable consequences, and in referencing such evaluation to identify and select alternatives. Human Interaction : Requires the ability to provide guidance, assistance, and/or interpretation to others on how to apply procedures and standards to specific situations. Also includes lead person/uniformed officer guidance and direction involving instructing, reviewing work, maintaining standards, and coordinating activities. Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Materials Utilization : Requires the ability to start, stop, operate and monitor the functioning of heavy equipment and materials used in transporting hazardous waste, as well as testing chemicals, devices and equipment. Verbal Aptitude : Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference, design, descriptive, legal, advisory and consulting data and information. Mathematical Aptitude : Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division; calculate decimals/percentages. Functional Reasoning : Requires ability to apply principles of rational systems. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form. Ability to exercise leadership and judgment to adopt or modify methods and standards to meet variations in assigned objectives. Situational Reasoning : Requires the ability to exercise the leadership, decisiveness and creativity required in situations involving evaluation of information against measurable or verifiable criteria. ADA COMPLIANCE Physical Ability : Tasks involve the ability to exert extremely heavy physical effort in very heavy work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials in excess of 100 pounds. Sensory Requirements : Most tasks require visual perception and discrimination. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate odors. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate depths. Some tasks require oral communications ability. Environmental Factors : Tasks are regularly performed with exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as smoke, dust, pollen, odors, fumes, temperature extremes, machinery, explosives, traffic hazards, toxic/poisonous agents, and disease or pathogenic substances.The Orange County School District will provide reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities to allow them to perform the essential functions of the job when such individuals request an accommodation.
