Description
The Field Service Supervisor is responsible for leading the team assigned, ensuring that both preventive and corrective maintenance activities are completed as scheduled. This role includes managing resources such as spare parts and materials, following mining safety standards, and overseeing field operations. The supervisor also monitors performance indicators, prepares technical reports, supports safety procedures, and ensures proper control of the budget under his responsability.
Responsibilities:
Supervise a technical team.
Plan and coordinate maintenance activities.
Diagnose equipment issues and support repairs.
Ensure safety standards (mining regulations).
Manage tools, parts, and resources.
Report performance and service results.
Communicate with clients and project teams.
Train and support team development.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong technical knowledge of heavy equipment and lifting machinery, including hydraulics, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
Experience in the repair of cranes, truck cranes, and manlifts is preferred
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electro-hydraulic system failures
Knowledge of DS 023 EM (Mining Safety and Occupational Health Regulations) is an advantage
Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams in mining operations
Strong leadership and team management skills
Experience in maintenance planning and execution
Knowledge of mining safety standards and procedures
Ability to manage resources, tools, materials, and spare parts
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Valid driver’s license
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the mining industry
At least 4 years of experience in maintenance supervision of mobile equipment
Experience working with maintenance and repair of heavy machinery
Work Environment:
Work is performed in mining sites and field locations
Exposure to outdoor conditions, including heat, dust, and noise
Frequent interaction with teams, equipment, and operational areas
Requires travel to different project sites
Work may involve extended or flexible hours depending on project needs
Strong focus on safety and compliance with mining regulations
