Are you motivated by seeing critical water and wastewater projects take shape through strong on-site leadership? CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Water/Wastewater Construction Manager to join our Water Team in Blacksburg, VA or Richmond, VA . In this role, you’ll serve as a key on-site leader—observing daily construction activities, collaborating with contractors and clients, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. What You'll Do: Provide day‑to‑day on‑site construction management to ensure water and wastewater projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in accordance with contract requirements Serve as a primary point of contact for contractors, clients, and project teams—facilitating clear communication, resolving field issues, and maintaining strong working relationships Conduct regular site visits to verify compliance with plans, safety standards, and quality expectations Review, track, and document construction activities including work orders, pay applications, inspection reports, and daily reports with accuracy and attention to detail Review change order requests, develop estimates, negotiate costs, and support stakeholders and regulatory engagement What You Bring: Associate’s Degree in Engineering Science, Construction Services, or a related technical field required or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor’s Degree preferred Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management or a similar role required Valid driver’s license required Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and regulatory requirements with knowledge of construction safety and quality standards Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel required Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Proficiency with construction management software and tools preferred PACP (pipe), MACP (manhole), and/or LACP (lateral) certifications preferred Why You'll Love It Here: Play a vital role in delivering water and wastewater infrastructure projects that protect public health and strengthen communities Work alongside knowledgeable, collaborative professionals who value safety, quality, and long-term client partnerships Curious about the impactful work our Water team is doing?
