Psychiatrist – Collaborating Physician (MD/DO)
New York Region | Must Reside & Be Licensed in New York
CHE Behavioral Health Services is seeking a Psychiatrist (MD/DO) to serve as a Collaborating Physician for our psychiatric nurse practitioners and physician assistants. CHE is a premier behavioral health provider with 700+ clinicians across 11 states, delivering high-quality, compliant, and patient-centered care in skilled nursing facilities and outpatient settings.
Position Overview The Collaborating Physician provides clinical oversight to CHE psychiatric NPs/PAs by reviewing charts, ensuring adherence to best-practice guidelines, and supporting diagnostic and treatment accuracy. This role is fully collaborative—no direct patient care required . CHE’s State and Regional Directors provide day-to-day operational support for NPs and PAs.
Key Responsibilities • Review and approve medical records as required by state law
• Provide clinical consultation to NPs/PAs as needed
• Support accurate psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning
• Ensure prescribing practices align with APA and SAMHSA guidelines
• Participate in periodic quality review meetings
Requirements • MD or DO with Board Certification in Psychiatry
• Must hold active California license
• Active DEA
• Commitment to quality, compliance, and collaborative care
