Overview The Pictsweet Company is growing! Family owned and operated for 75 years, Pictsweet is a frozen vegetable producer with agricultural roots. We are seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to join our vegetable processing facilitiy in Bridgeville, DE. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the activities of the Warehouse, Dry Warehouse, and Pallets, including responsibility for inventory management, receiving of materials, and distribution and shipment of frozen vegetables. Benefits Benefits begin on first day of employment for Medical, Dental, Vision, HSA, & FSA 100% Company paid benefits include Group Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, & Long-Term Disability Insurance 401k with Employer Match Vacation days, sick leave, & ten paid holidays Responsibilities Supervises the daily actives of the Warehouse and Dry Warehouse. Ensures the integrity of food safety and quality throughout all phases of warehouse management and distribution, which includes compliance with the Trailer Seal Policy, SOPs, DOT regulations, and all other policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Enforces company rules, such as attendance, food safety, production quality, safety, GMPs, and efficiency. Disciplines subordinates when non-compliance occurs. Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulations relating to food safety and personnel safety such as FDA and OSHA. Complies with all other regulations and laws affecting the company (business law, trade secrets, personnel practices, etc.). Maintains an accurate accounting of inventoried items on a daily basis. Supervises routine and annual auditing operations. Maintains an accurate and organized inventory system to ensure the rapid and timely delivery. Supervises forklift fleet to ensure maximum use with minimum down time. Ensures material-handling equipment is safe and meets OSHA standards. Oversees Master Cleaning Schedule for department and maintains records. Interview, recommend hiring, instruct, train, motivate, direct, evaluate, correct, and administer discipline. Develops a team approach in the effective utilization of available manpower. Follows all Company policies and procedures, which include SOPs, Employee Handbook, Food Quality Policies, GMP Handbook, HARPC, and Pictsweet Safety Procedures. Oversees time and temperature checks on product in warehouse. Responsible for corrective action when non-compliance occurs. Responsible for ensuring and monitoring all quality and food safety systems in place for the production and storage of quality products manufactured under clean, safe, and wholesome conditions. Develops SOPs on food safety and food quality for the Warehouse, as needed. Ensures a safe work place. Follows Pictsweet Hazardous Communication Plan, Lock-out/Tag-out Program, Process Safety Management Plan, and all applicable safety standards. Assists in both internal and external food safety audits. Oversees food safety and personnel safety training. Training includes machine guarding, lockout tagout, PPE, cross contamination, food allergens, critical control points and other topics. Performs all other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 5 years supervisory experience in a major warehousing and distribution system, food industry preferred. Experience should include budget responsibility (development, submission, monitoring and target compliance), Personnel and Staffing Management (interviewing, selection, training, directing, scheduling, evaluating, controlling, disciplining, and rewarding), inventory control of a complex, high volume, integrated receiving/distribution system, payroll responsibility, forklift training and repair. Experience with automated systems required (i.e. data base management of inventory, tracking, and retrieval). EDUCATION: High School diploma or GED plus 5 years supervisory experience. Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required. Warehouse Supervisor must have knowledge and understanding of warehousing logistic fundamentals. Supervisor must have moderate mathematical reasoning ability and a basic understanding of applied statistics. Supervisor must have an understanding of business law as applied to warehousing and distribution functions. This knowledge is normally gained through a Bachelor’s degree in Management, Logistics, Business, Organizational Leadership or a related field. SPECIAL SKILLS: Must possess excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Supervisor must be computer proficient with spreadsheets and word processing. Must be forklift certified. Supervisor must be a proficient trainer of subordinate personnel (including forklift certification and inventory management systems).
