We are known as experts in engineering, manufacturing, and servicing innovative automated materials handling systems including conveyors, automatic guided vehicles, automated storage & retrieval systems, and integrated controls.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The company is currently seeking an experienced<strong> Electrical Engineer II</strong>.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary/ Primary Purpose </strong></p>\n<p>Electrical engineers in the Automated Vehicle Engineering group concept, design, and validate electrical and control systems for Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) for use in manufacturing, industrial, warehousing, and entertainment applications among others.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>Ideal candidates will be <strong><em>curious</em></strong> of both technical and non-technical challenges, <strong><em>competent</em></strong> in concept and design generation, <strong><em>courageous</em></strong> to engage and adapt with new and complex challenges, <strong><em>confident</em></strong> to produce new ideas and accept input from others, <strong><em>compassionate</em></strong> when interacting with the world, and a strong <strong><em>critical thinker</em></strong> with an analytical approach to problem solving.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Major Areas of Responsibility</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Execute electrical design of a battery powered industrial AGV/AMR according to established requirements</li>\n <li>Execute design within budget and scope</li>\n <li>Define scope of work and description of operation</li>\n <li>Calculate equipment performance requirements and capabilities</li>\n <li>Create control and electrical system concept documentation</li>\n <li>Create control and electrical system design specifications</li>\n <li>Create control and electrical system schematics and component layouts</li>\n <li>Create testing and as-built documentation</li>\n <li>Manage assigned budget, schedule, and scope of design</li>\n <li>Evaluate and select control and electrical components</li>\n <li>Engage internal and external teams to ensure control and electrical systems conform to applicable standards</li>\n <li>Engage internal and external teams to ensure control and electrical systems conform to functional deliverables</li>\n <li>Engage internal and external teams to evaluate control and electrical system technical risks</li>\n <li>Engage with internal and external teams to recommend and implement product and process improvement</li>\n <li>Work with the manufacturing facility to support the build and testing of AGVs</li>\n <li>Remotely support commissioning team and customers with troubleshooting AGV related problems </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>What We’re Looking For</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>B.S. in Engineering (Electrical/Mechatronics) or equivalent experience</li>\n <li>Proficiency</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar</li>\n  <li>Microsoft Office – MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint</li>\n  <li>Electrical design and component selection</li>\n  <li>Read and draw electrical schematics and layouts</li>\n  <li>Troubleshooting electrical systems both in person and remotely</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Desired Experience</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>AutoCad or AutoCad Electrical (or equivalent)</li>\n  <li>Design of automation equipment, including:</li>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Panel design and component layout</li>\n   <li>Power distribution</li>\n   <li>Interface with control devices (PLC, industrial computers, motor controllers, etc.)</li>\n   <li>Harness design</li>\n   <li>Wire routing</li>\n   <li>Interface with I/O and peripheral devices</li>\n  </ul>\n  <li>NEC, NFPA Specifications</li>\n  <li>ANSI B56.5 Specification</li>\n  <li>UL 583 Specification</li>\n  <li>ISO 3691</li>\n </ul>\n <li>5+ years direct experience in electrical design</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Demonstrated Physical Abilities as Follows: </strong></p>\n<p>Visits to customer locations may require negotiating through an industrial facility, including, but not limited to, conveyor systems requiring climbing access ladders, negotiation screen guards, catwalks, and lifting and/or carrying objects up to 40 lbs.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Daifuku Airport America Corporation is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled, and federal sub/contractor.
