Description Under the supervision of the UCSF Department of OB/GYN, REI guided by the policies and procedures, rules and regulations, and bylaws of the UCSF Medical Center, some Nursing Policies, and, Medical Staff Policies, and any unique ambulatory patient services this Nurse Practitioner (NP) position is assigned to in the Center for Reproductive Health (CRH). This AHP position may perform delegated functions as appropriate to their "scope of practice". In general, the "scope of practice" includes the management of chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and surgical procedures per approved standardized procedures as identified by the list available on the Medical Staff Office website. The CIDP approved standardized procedures are unique to each person and are unlikely to include ALL SPs on the list. This position may provide patient care in approved age groups and UCSF Health licensed settings. The AHP has responsibility for the quality of standards of care for a specified patient population and evidences self-direction and accountability in the development of this role within the all UCSF medical center locations. UCSF Health requires all Advanced Health Practitioners (AHP) to be credentialed through its Medical Staff Services Office (MSSO) in order to practice and function in their clinical role. This applies to both adult and pediatric AHPs in the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings at all UCSF Health sites (Parnassus, Mt. Zion, Satellite Clinics, et al). Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 30-60 days and must be completed prior to the first working day. Qualifications Required Qualifications : Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing recognized Nurse Practitioner Program with a master’s or doctoral degree aligned with the patient population and clinical role. One (1 year of experience working as a Certified Nurse Practitioner in Women’s Health Knowledge of general obstetrical care and female reproductive anatomy and physiology This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations. Preferred Qualifications : One (1) year of experience working as a Certified Nurse Practitioner in Women’s Health Knowledge of general obstetrical care and female reproductive anatomy and physiology Two (2) or more years RN/NP clinical experience in Reproductive Medicine/Endocrinology, Assisted Reproductive Technology (A.R.T.) Obstetrics/Gynecology, Women’s Health Services Two (2) to three (3) years’ experience with diagnostic ultrasounds License/Certification : 1. California Registered Nurse (RN) License without restriction 2. California Nurse Practitioner (NP) License without restriction 3. California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number 4. NP national board certification from an accepted certifying agency aligned with the patient population and clinical role Women’s Health (WHNP-BC) . Adult Outpatient (A-GNP-C, ANP-C, FNP-C, GNP-C, AGPCNP-BC, ANP-BC, FNP-BC, GNP-BC, ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC) See Addendum A below for more detail. 5. California Driver License (if required for position) 6. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 registered to a California address 7. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification 8. Additional required AHA certifications: None additional to BLS 9.
