Accurate packaging and data collection for each order. Each employee considers food safety and consumer safety while preforming work. Participates in GMP and food safety training. Follows GMP policy. Reports all food safety concerns with urgency.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Pay: 19/hr - 23/hr</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>FUNCTIONS:  </p>\n<p>Under the direction of the Lead Operator and/or Production Supervisor, the Extrusion Operator Assistant will ensure that product is being inspected prior to shipment to customers. This position is backed up by other Operator Assistants or by a Lead Operator.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: </p>\n<p><strong>QUALITY CONTROL:</strong>  </p>\n<li>Responsible for checking job ticket extrusion instructions</li>\n<li>Noting any size or gauge tolerances</li>\n<li>Noting any special packaging or labeling instructions</li>\n<li>Checking product to ensure it conforms to job ticket specs.</li>\n<li>Verifying size</li>\n<li>Completing “Size” Chart (not S.P.C. Charts)</li>\n<li>Must understand importance of size and gauge checks</li>\n<li>Verifying that gussets are set up correctly</li>\n<li>Blocking</li>\n<li>Gels, blending problems</li>\n<li>Dirty Die Face</li>\n<li>Check product for treat</li>\n<p><strong>PACKAGING:</strong></p>\n<li>Responsible for proper packaging of products</li>\n<li>Must obtain proper packaging information from job ticket</li>\n<li>Should know pallet and cradle sizes</li>\n<li>Need to know location of packaging supplies</li>\n<li>Product must be packaged in a neat and professional manner</li>\n<p><strong>DATA COLLECTION:</strong></p>\n<li>Responsible for entering production in computer</li>\n<li>Must understand importance of correct data entries</li>\n<li>Must weigh every other roll & notify operator if not correct</li>\n<li>Roll stock – all rolls must be weighed</li>\n<li>Must track all scrap and make entries in data collection</li>\n<li>Responsible for correct job start and stop times</li>\n<p><strong>LABELING:</strong></p>\n<li>Must obtain proper labeling information from job ticket</li>\n<li>Responsible for printing labels</li>\n<li>Labeling must be done correctly and neatly</li>\n<li>Labels should be centered and lined up on the box</li>\n<li>Must ensure that pallet/bin labels are correctly completed</li>\n<li>Responsible for inserting a white label, with correct weight, into core</li>\n<p><strong>MACHINERY:</strong></p>\n<li>Train for operator duties and responsibilities, including being able and willing to learn downstream equipment and maintenance operations</li>\n<li>Should be able to perform basic adjustments to the master roll winder.</li>\n<li>Should be able to thread all downstream equipment</li>\n<li>Must have basic understanding of extrusion process</li>\n<li>Should be able to make minor adjustments to the master roll winder.</li>\n<li>Should be able to adjust tension on winder and understand how it affects the roll</li>\n<li>Must be able to keep tools and miscellaneous metal parts off floor (out of scrap)</li>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Company policies, procedures, and practices are implemented via this position.  Quality of products is directly related to the effectiveness of individuals in this job.  A broad base of current technical knowledge is required to ensure that standards are met, and efficiencies are maintained.
