Apply today to join our team and make a positive impact on our community.</p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>This posting is for 1 temporary full-time position up to 18 months</strong></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><p>Leadership and Staff Supervision</p><ul><li>Build and lead a talented team focused on delivering high-quality programs, leading the team through change management and conduct crucial conversations when required</li><li>Supervise, guide and support the recreation program team to program activities in our indoor recreation facilities&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</li></ul><p>Communications</p><ul><li>Foster strong internal communication across various work teams and program instructors</li><li>Provide clear communication to support positive guest services related to registration processes and program preparedness</li><li>Liaise with business systems and marketing for proper representation in online and print materials&nbsp;<br><strong>&nbsp;</strong></li></ul><p>Program Development</p><ul><li>Network, conduct research and assess community needs, identifying industry trends</li><li>Develop and evaluate programs to address service gaps and measure success in alignment with the Recreation and Culture Strategy outcomes and department business plan</li><li>Develop innovative programs using a lens of accessibility and inclusivity</li><li>Collaborate with other facility and program supervisors to optimize space utilization and meet community needs</li></ul><p><br>Systems Coordination &nbsp;</p><ul><li>Coordinate systems, procedures, and processes in support of the planning and implementation of indoor recreation programs across multiple facilities. &nbsp;</li><li>Support course and class management and enrolment in program registration software</li></ul><p><br>Business Development</p><ul><li>Collect and analyze program data and programs evaluations to develop attraction and retention plans</li><li>Focus on maximizing the guest experience through a continuous improvement lens</li><li>Understand utilization gaps and work collaboratively on effective use of space while meeting community need<br>&nbsp;</li></ul><p>Budget Management</p><ul><li>Work with the branch accountant to manage budgets, maximize revenue, and recover costs</li><li>Explore opportunities for sponsorship and develop pricing strategies</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Qualifications and Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>Post-secondary Degree in Recreation Administration, Business, or related discipline with 2 years of related experience; or post-secondary Diploma with 4 years of related experience</li><li>Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory capacity &nbsp;</li><li>Current Standard First AID with CPR-HCP, and WHIMIS is required &nbsp;</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with IntelliGenz software is an asset</li><li>OH&amp;S Supervisory courses are assets</li><li>Strong interpersonal, public relations, and communication skills</li><li>Excellent organizational and time management skills</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills &nbsp;</li><li>Experience and knowledge in change management</li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously</li><li>Flexibility to work irregular hours to provide supervisory support during peak times</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Conditions of Employment:</strong></p><ul><li>Submission of a Satisfactory Criminal Record Check &nbsp;</li><li>Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s licence and submission of a 5-year Driver’s Abstract with less than 7 demerits &nbsp; &nbsp;</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Who We Are:</strong></p><p>Strathcona County is a specialized municipality located in the heart of Alberta. &nbsp;Our vision is to become Canada’s most livable community, where our workplace culture and identity are supported by our people plan and values of integrity, respect, safety, fairness, and cooperation. &nbsp;</p><p><strong>Why Join Strathcona County</strong>: (depending on position)</p><ul><li>Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, which includes:<ul><li>Extended health and dental coverage &nbsp; &nbsp;</li><li>Health and wellness spending account &nbsp; &nbsp;</li><li>Life and disability insurance</li><li>Retirement and pension programs &nbsp;</li><li>Paid and unpaid leave programs &nbsp;</li><li>Earned day off program</li><li>Employee and family assistance program</li></ul></li><li>Commitment to employee development, through internal and external training and development opportunities</li><li>Well-being programs and a safety culture focused on physical and psychological health in the workplace</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered. &nbsp;</p><p>This competition may be used to fill future vacancies for similar positions within the next 6 months. &nbsp;</p><p>Strathcona County is committed to an inclusive, respectful, and equitable workplace that represents the community we serve.
