Directly or indirectly, you'll have exposure to cutting-edge technology and groundbreaking medical research.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Location:</strong> Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in <strong>St. Petersburg, FL</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Schedule:</strong> Monday - Friday 3:00 PM- 11:30 PM</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Pay Rate: </strong>$32.00 - $34.00 Per hour (Based on Experience)</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Position Overview:  </strong>Inspects, cleans, assembles and sterilizes surgical instrument sets. Operates cleaning and sterilization equipment in order to clean instruments and supplies. Prepare supplies and equipment for steam sterilization and low temperature sterilization.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Effectively decontaminates instruments and equipment according to department procedures.</li>\n <li>Accurately performs prep functions including instrument set assembly, wrapping, labeling, and identification of all items processed in SPD.</li>\n <li>Demonstrates knowledge of all instruments and equipment processed through SPD.</li>\n <li>Demonstrates knowledge of proper loading and operation of sterilizers and other equipment.</li>\n <li>Prepares case carts accurately and delivers within adequate time for case setup.</li>\n <li>Promptly stores sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment in the proper locations after processing.</li>\n <li>Performs biological testing/sterility assurance tasks accurately.</li>\n <li>Maintains biological test log and other sterilization records keeping.</li>\n <li>Knows procedure for load recall in the event of a positive biological test.</li>\n <li>Responds promptly and positively to all customer requests.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.</li>\n <li>One of the following certifications is required: \n  <ul>\n   <li>CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) </li>\n   <li>Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) </li>\n   <li> IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management) certification</li>\n   <li>CRCST </li>\n   <li>CBSPD certification</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Minimum of two years of instrument processing experience required, with proficiency in sterilization and set assembly </li>\n <li>Must have demonstrated competence in instrument set assembly and sterilization across multiple specialties.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Johns Hopkins Health System and its affiliates are an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employers.
