Fitness Program Legal Assistance through ARAG Optum Financial Service through ConnectYourCare Benefit Advocacy Center through Gallagher MAJOR FUNCTIONS: The Recovery Coach is responsible for providing community-based recovery services to an assigned caseload of clients referred through the Recovery Center. He/she is responsible for conducting outreach, advocacy, and developing sober social and support activities. The Recovery Coach documents all provided services in a manner that is compliant with regulatory and funding agents. He/she delivers services to the participants on-site and in the community. SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Contributes to the development of the ethical framework for delivery of recovery services and conducts all recovery coaching activities within this framework. 2. Contributes to the development of a community resource book. 3. Assists the participants in completing a Wellness Plan. 4. Provides guidance, support and recovery coaching for participants in accordance with Wellness Plan and engages in recovery activities and support services. 5. Conducts outreach activities in the community. 6. Organizes community-based pro-social activities and events. 7. Maintain weekly contact with each participant for at least one half hour. 8. Attends monthly Recovery Coach support group. 9. Helps to facilitate Peer to Peer recovery support groups. 10. Maintains weekly Recovery Coach contact log. 11. Conducts educational presentations for providers of local recovery support services. 12. Conducts educational presentations to groups of prospective Recovery Coaches. 13. Conducts educational presentation to groups of prospective participants. 14. Eligible to serve on Consumer Advisory Board and project steering committee. REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 1. High School Diploma or G.E.D. 2. Ability to deliver culturally competent services to a diverse client population in an urban setting. 3. Familiarity with the project's ethical framework for recovery services and the Recovery Self-Assessment and Planning Guide. 4. A minimum of six months of community-based recovery with at least six consecutive months of abstinence at the time of enrollment. 5. Good interpersonal skills, enthusiastic about recovery. 6. Must be able to work a flexible schedule. 7. Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) certification, to be obtained within six months of hire.
