    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 22px\">TITLE: DEAN OF STUDENTS  </span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 22px\">REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL OR DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #0e101a; font-size: 16px\">Primary Purpose:</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0e101a; font-size: 16px\">The Dean of Students is responsible for managing department staff as directed by the Principal.  Responsibilities include program management, discipline, and professional development on classroom management and implementation of procedures and guidelines for an ISS program.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0e101a; font-size: 16px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Key Responsibilities include:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Providing supervision and evaluation of all department staff in regards to classroom management procedures, providing follow-up and evaluation, and maintaining appropriate documentation.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Meeting with parents who have concerns about programs or teachers with regards to discipline and behavior management issues.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">To keep the administrative team and school Superintendent apprised of all relevant and pertinent issues.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Student Control and Supervision:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Establish a climate in which students can develop self-discipline.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">To have disciplinary authority over each student while on school premises, while riding on school buses, and while taking part in authorized school activities.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">To have authority over activities sponsored and conducted by the student organizations of the school under the direction of the Principal.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Be responsible for the supervision of students and student activities in the school buildings, on school grounds, or involved in field trips or other student activities sponsored by the school.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Work closely with the admin team.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Monitor students arriving and leaving times from school paying special attention that no pupil is allowed to leave the school grounds for any reason unless being picked up by a parent or driver. Prior permission has been given to the following office procedures.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Daily lunch duty in the cafeteria to manage student behavior and/or lunch detention duty</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Other duties assigned by the Principal or management.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0e101a; font-size: 16px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #0e101a; font-size: 16px\">Qualifications:</span></span><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Native English speaker preferred.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and employees.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Have a strong understanding of higher education institution policies.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Strong leadership skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Computer literacy skills.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About American Baccalaureate School:</span></p>\n<p>ABS is a private, non­-profit school offering an American-based curriculum including a wide variety of advanced courses, and a college preparatory program, guiding students to become independent, intellectual global citizens.
