We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Technology Platform team, dedicated to the Hospice business unit. You will own the AWS infrastructure for a recently migrated healthcare platform, driving stability, cost optimization, and modernization. This is a high-impact role where you will shape the technical direction of a critical healthcare platform serving hospice patients across the United States.
Key Responsibilities
Own and manage the Hospice AWS infrastructure using Terraform (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Backup)
Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for .NET applications transitioning from legacy deployment processes
Execute the cloud cost optimization roadmap: right-sizing, Savings Plans, storage tiering
Plan and lead the migration from EC2-based workloads to modern architectures (EKS, Lambda, Step Functions)
Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability (Datadog, CloudWatch)
Ensure HITRUST E1 compliance and security best practices across all environments
Mentor and upskill the Hospice application team on AWS operations and modern SDLC practices
Collaborate with DBA team on the SQL Server EC2 to RDS migration
Manage production patching, backup/DR, and incident response for the Hospice platform
Required Experience & Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering
Deep expertise with AWS services (EC2, EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation/Terraform)
Strong Terraform experience (modules, state management, CI/CD integration)
Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS)
Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, CloudWatch, or similar)
Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
Experience working in regulated environments (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Windows Server and .NET application deployments
Experience migrating legacy on-premises workloads to AWS
Experience with SQL Server administration or migration to RDS
AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
Experience mentoring or leading small teams
Physical requirements for this role include the ability to work at a computer terminal with monitor, keyboard and mouse for extended periods of time, stoop, bend, and reach for equipment and supplies, make frequent repetitive motions required to operate a computer that include the wrists, hands and fingers, and lift, carry, push, pull, and move light objects up to 20 pounds. The role also requires the ability to effectively communicate through verbal interactions, discern auditory information, and visually perceive details to perform essential job functions.
