    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Element has an opportunity for a <strong>Waterjet Operator (Alternate Schedule/Hours)</strong>. In this role you will be a member of the operations team in Huntington Beach.  The Machining position performs a variety of routine and non-routine machining assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision.  The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Salary: $24- $28/hr DoE + $2.00 Alternate Schedule Differential</p>\n<p>Schedule: Wed–Fri 10:00am–6:30pm | Sat–Sun 6:00am–2:30pm</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Work hours: Flexible to work both 1st and 2nd shift </li>\n <li>Use Omax waterjet to prepare specimens for testing as dictated in customer specifications</li>\n <li>Maintain equipment and schedules preventative maintenance</li>\n <li>Follow guidance from Department Manager, Machinist / Senior Machinist co-workers</li>\n <li>Gathers and records dimensions in accordance with quality assurance requirements</li>\n <li>Use blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Skills / Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Diploma or GED certificate preferred with college or vocational school coursework welcomed</li>\n <li>Some college level courses completed and / or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a machine shop environment; may have earned Associate degree mechanical related field</li>\n <li>Understanding of machining concepts</li>\n <li>Basic understanding of machining concepts, measuring instruments and dimensional concepts</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of machine shop safety protocol</li>\n <li>Strong computer skills and basic mathematical skills with the ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus</li>\n <li>Ability to lift <50 lbs. often and >50 lbs. on occasion and stand on feet for long periods of time</li>\n <li>Ability to work alone the majority of the work day; only requesting assistance for clarification or confirmation of machining procedures</li>\n <li>Understand what must be completed each work day and takes the initiative to complete those tasks properly and timely </li>\n <li>Ability to machine specimens from initial set up to completion</li>\n <li>Ability to understand and carry out basic machining methods </li>\n <li>Prior knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the machining field</li>\n <li>Proven ability to set up and performs a variety of machining processes according to customer specifications under minimal supervision and technical input of Senior Principal Machinist</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>NOTE:  This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services.
