    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Job Summary</span></p>\n<p>The Intermediate Engineer will provide electrical project engineering support to clients in the urban development and lighting industries, which includes residential, commercial and industrial projects. This individual is responsible for providing effective communication with clients and appropriate project stakeholders at key points of the project execution cycle including design requirements, construction schedule and budget.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education &amp; Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Graduate of a recognized postsecondary institution with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.</li>\n<li>Engineer in Training or Professional Engineer designation, or eligible for registration with APEGA.</li>\n<li>3-7 years of electrical engineering and/or project management experience in power distribution systems.</li>\n<li>Understanding of Canadian Electrical Code, CSA Underground and Overhead Standards, Alberta Electrical Utility Code, and other applicable industry guidelines and standards.</li>\n<li>Experience with the development of single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, electrical layouts, cable schedules, EHT isometrics and other key design documents.</li>\n<li>Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, AGI32, SpidaCalc, PLS CAD software is considered an asset.</li>\n<li>First aid and CPR certification would be considered an asset.</li>\n<li>Valid driver’s licence with no at fault accidents.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Execute electrical engineering activities within a scope of work that includes conceptual design development through to detailed design, procurement support, construction support and commissioning, depending on the needs of the client.</li>\n<li>Stamp and issue drawings.</li>\n<li>Answer Requests for Information as needed.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with the project team to deliver high quality client service that maintains technical excellence, budget, schedule and contractual requirements.</li>\n<li>Develop project design criteria, design basis, and electrical specifications.</li>\n<li>Participate in various phases of projects, including developing deliverables from concept through calculations and detailed design, and final / stamped issue.</li>\n<li>Remain current with developing electrical engineering technologies.</li>\n<li>Actively engage directly with clients to understand their requirements and expectations and deliver top quality solutions.</li>\n<li>Perform detailed reviews of project electrical design specifications, design drawings and standard detail drawings.</li>\n<li>Perform power system analysis including short circuit, load flow, coordination and arc flash studies.</li>\n<li>Perform calculations including load studies, lighting levels, hazardous area classifications, cable sizing and voltage drop.</li>\n<li>Develop project deliverables including single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, cable tray layouts, cable schedules, junction box layouts, bill of materials, lighting and grounding layouts, control panel layouts, instrument layouts and instrument indices.</li>\n<li>Manage project budgets ensuring work is completed according to the defined contractual scope and execution strategy.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with internal and external Senior Electrical Engineers for support and development on more challenging tasks.</li>\n<li>Engage with contractors and/or site personnel to gather required documentation information, address construction issues or changes to schedule.</li>\n<li>Travel to client sites for project scoping, verification, construction support and meeting with clients as needed.</li>\n<li>Ensure all safety procedures and processes are followed with the goal of zero injury.</li>\n<li>Work safely and follow all rules and procedures including attending and participating in safety meetings and completing all required safety orientation and training.</li>\n<li>Completion of other relevant duties as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Skills &amp; Knowledge</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Client service oriented</li>\n<li>Strong written and verbal communication</li>\n<li>Dependable self-starter</li>\n<li>Analytical and creative problem solving skills</li>\n<li>Ability to work both independently and within a team</li>\n<li>Excellent organizational and time management skills</li>\n<li>High attention to detail</li>\n<li>Continuous learner</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Conditions</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Job is performed in an office environment but site travel (up to 20%) may be required depending on the project.</li>\n</ul>",
