Thorough knowledge of CAD standards, material, and AutoCAD software will be required. This position will report to a Lead Designer and support substation projects across the QISG platform.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What We Offer: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive salary – overtime is available.</li>\n <li>Comprehensive health and retirement benefits.</li>\n <li>Professional development opportunities.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong> <u>What You’ll Do:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Work on design aspects from project inception to completion on various substation projects.</li>\n <li>Utilize CAD design software for substation design.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate knowledge of quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship.</li>\n <li>Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of his/her work. </li>\n <li>Research information in catalogs, specifications, corporate standards, or other reference material.</li>\n <li>Learn and properly use the document management system and suggest improvements.</li>\n <li>Bring potential project-related problems and possible solutions to the attention of the stakeholders.</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Required Experience and Education</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Associates degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent certification is preferred. </li>\n <li>Experience in drafting disciplines with a background in substation design is highly preferred. </li>\n <li>No experience required for an entry level position in the electric utility industry. More experience performing detailed CAD/design for high voltage substation projects could result in a higher pay band. </li>\n <li>Word processing, spread sheet, and e-mail software.</li>\n <li>Extensive knowledge of various CAD programs (AutoCAD preferred)</li>\n <li>Curiosity about and willingness to learn about the major components of a substation.
