Only applicants chosen for an interview will be contacted.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">SUMMARY OF DUTIES</span></span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p>Reports to the General Repair Shift Foreperson.  Service, repair, overhaul, inspection and diagnosis of diesel, and CNG buses in an efficient and effective manner applying a high degree of quality to reduce or eliminate premature wear, service calls, in-service failures and provide maximum service dependability.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">GENERAL DUTIES</span></span><br></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p>Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections in accordance with company standards/ policies/guidelines and MTO standards.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair Transit vehicles and equipment using OEM software that would include but not limited to; Cummins Insite, Allison DOC, Meritor, Bendix, Voith and Vansco.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Inspect, diagnose, repair, remove, and install:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>engines, transmissions, differentials, and other assemblies</li>\n<li>steering components, brake components and suspension systems</li>\n<li>ignition, charging systems, instruments, wiring and other electrical and electronic systems and equipment</li>\n<li>fuel systems</li>\n<li>air conditioning systems</li>\n<li>hydraulic systems, components and controls</li>\n<li>pneumatic systems, components and controls</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Disassemble, repair, rebuild, and reassemble major drive/power train components, such as engines, transmissions, differentials, brakes, axles, steering, etc.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Operate personal and shop tools such as, but not limited to: hoists, cranes, air tools, power tools, saws, presses and torches etc.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Perform on-road service and repairs or vehicle retrieval, as necessary.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Using Enterprise Asset Management record, enter and review data as directed to provide accurate and timely vehicle repair information.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Works in accordance with the provisions of applicable Health and Safety legislation and all City of Hamilton corporate and departmental policies and procedures related to Occupational Health and Safety.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Performs all other duties as assigned, including those directly related to the major responsibilities of the job.<br></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">QUALIFICATIONS</span></span><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span><br></p>\n<ol>\n<li>Must have and maintain a valid Ontario Truck and Coach Technicians Licence (310T).<br></li>\n<li>Capable, knowledgeable, and current in all aspects (practices safe work using OHSA, measuring, shop tools/equipment, major components, etc.) of 310T Qualifications<br></li>\n<li>Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain natural gas endorsement (ICE-NG Certification), refrigeration/air conditioning endorsement and any other endorsements as required by the employer and the Province of Ontario in the future.<br></li>\n<li>Must be capable of and willing to retain technical competency on Transit Fleet vehicles and equipment.<br></li>\n<li>Must have a valid Class “G” Ontario Driver’s Licence with the ability to obtain and maintain a Class “C” with “Z” endorsement Driver’s Licence.<br></li>\n<li>Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision.<br></li>\n<li>Must be physically capable of using heavy tools and equipment, working outdoors, working evening, night and weekend shifts.<br></li>\n<li>Must supply and maintain an adequate set of personal hand tools required for the job.<br></li>\n<li>Must participate and complete all required mandatory training within the job class.</li>\n</ol>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">THIS POSITION REQUIRES A VALID CLASS “G” DRIVER’S LICENCE AND PROOF THEREOF IS REQUIRED AFTER HIRE.</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">SALARY: Hourly</span></span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Salary Grade 16T</span></p>\n<p> $40.71 - $45.23 per hour plus applicable premiums (see below)</p>\n<p><br>*Note:  See appropriate Collective Agreement or the Non-Union Salary Range for details.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">HOURS:</span></span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p>40 per week</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Premiums:</span></span></p>\n<p>Time and a quarter on Sunday (1.25 x rate of pay)</p>\n<p>Annual tool allowance: $1300.00</p>\n<p>Annual boot and clothing allowance: $400.00</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">SHIFT:</span></span></p>\n<p>To be determined.
