Description Full job description Zachry Nuclear Engineering, Inc . (ZNE) is currently seeking a Drafter, Mechanical for a direct hire position located in Stonington, CT or Charlotte, NC engineering office This is an in-office position in either our Stonington, CT or Charlotte, NC office. Position Synopsis : Individual will apply manual and computerized drafting methods with a working knowledge of the terms and procedures of the occupation to ‎obtain the desired product‎. Assignments will be completed utilizing information provided by engineers or design staff under the direction of a supervisor‎.‎ Individual will be relied upon to apply a working knowledge of mechanical and/or civil/structural design to prepare mechanical isometrics‎, ‎plans‎, ‎elevations‎, ‎and sections, piping plans‎, ‎details‎, ‎and pipe hanger supports‎, ‎and details‎ ‎utilizing engineer sketches and ‎vendor information‎. Other responsibilities may include preparation of bills of material, resolution of client comments and as-built drawing preparation. Education Required (minimum): High School diploma with ‎course work in drafting ‎techniques and‎/‎or Drafting ‎Certificate‎ is required. Experience Required (minimum) : Education or experience in engineering drafting and familiarity with basic drafting techniques is required. Able to accurately draw complex mechanical systems from sketches or ‎specifications using appropriate terms‎, ‎procedures and drafting standards‎ is required.‎ Able to demonstrate the ability to utilize various drafting and CADD techniques for project requirements is required. Travel to client sites with occasional periods of field/office work is required.
