Description
The purpose of this role is to support HR core/essential legal compliance work for the US workforce requiring entry level professional knowledge.
Employees at this level work under direct supervision, have beginning to working knowledge, and handle basic issues and problems.
This role reports to Mgr, US HR Compliance with frequent partnership with Human Resource department leaders and teams, COEs, internal and external legal counsel, and employees.
Responsibilities
Accountable to deliver the following essential activities for the US workforce:
• Compliance with Local Employment Requirements
o Supports processes for I-9 compliance, E-Verify, and monitoring legal status for international students and foreign workers
o Supports processes for all US legal compliance for employment laws and regulations
• Disability Accommodation Review and Administration
o Support ADA processes for legal compliance with mandated state and local disability laws
• Response to Subpoenas
• Legally Required Leave Administration
o Support compliance for federally (FMLA), state, and locally mandated leaves.
• Training and Support for Managers
• Legal Employment Eligibility
• Governmental/Court Employment Verifications
Qualifications
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or any combination of equivalent education and work experience
• Beginning to working knowledge of HR legal compliance
• Familiarity of best practices of HR functions.
• Key skills and core competencies include the ability to:
o Be organized with strong attention to detail
o Manage and prioritize multiple deliverables effectively
o Demonstrate strong time management skills
o Deliver excellent customer service
o Problem solve and provide effective solutions
o Communicate effectively in writing and verbally
o Apply policy and law to business situations
o Collaborate and work effectively in a team
To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for extended periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment.
