    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">The Surgical Technologist provides aid in exposure, hemostasis and other intraoperative technical functions that help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient. The Surgical Technologist performs these functions during the operation under the direction and supervision of the surgeon and in accordance with center policy and appropriate laws and regulations.</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\"><strong>Primary Responsibilities</strong></span></p><ul><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Able to work in the operating room under the direction and supervision of the surgeon.</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Scrubs, gowns and gloves without assistance.</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Can assist members of the Surgical Team with positioning and prepping the patient.</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Skillfully applies the principles of asepsis, maintains a sterile field and follows all infection control policies and procedures.</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Has an excellent knowledge of surgical anatomy physiology, and operative technique and works in collaboration with the surgeon.</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Provides exposure through appropriate use of instruments, retractors, suctioning and sponging techniques.</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Utilizes appropriate techniques in collaboration with the surgeon to achieve homeostasis.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Assists surgeon with placement of drains as surgically indicated.</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Appropriately handles all specimens during and after procedure.</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Applies appropriate wound dressings under the direction of the surgeon.</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Maintains familiarity with and abides by the Center&rsquo;s policies and procedures.</li><li style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Supports and participates in the Center&rsquo;s quality improvement program.</li></ul><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Graduate of an approved Surgical Technician Program</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Certification from accredited CAAHEP or ABHES program</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\"><strong>Experience&nbsp;</strong></span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">1 year of Surgical Technician Scrubbing experience: required</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: arial, sans-serif;
