This position administers sound patient care practices according to department/hospital policies and procedures while ensuring patient safety.</span></li>\n <li><span>Communicates effectively with patients to obtain clinical history/informed consent to assist the physician in optimizing the performance and interpretation of the examination. Explains procedure to patients/families and answers any questions to ease anxiety and ensure patient cooperation.</span></li>\n <li><span>Assists the physician in performing a variety of examinations using standard department protocols, isolation precautions and/or sterile technique.</span></li>\n <li><span>Utilizes knowledge of IV's, heparin locks and central line usage as they pertain to Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).</span></li>\n <li><span>Performs/recognizes the need for routine maintenance of imagers/processors to maintain consistent quality images.</span></li>\n <li><span>May perform additional duties as assigned.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><span><b>Minimum Qualifications:</b></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span><b>Education:</b> <b>One of the following:</b>&nbsp;</span>\n  <ul>\n   <li><span>Graduate of an accredited school of radiography&nbsp;</span></li>\n   <li><span>MRI certification from American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMIT)&nbsp;</span></li>\n   <li><span>Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)</span></li>\n   <li><span>Graduate of an accredited school of nuclear medicine with MRI training (must be MRI Registry eligible through ARRT)</span></li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><span><b>Experience:</b>&nbsp;Prior experience preferred as Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist and/or MRI Technologist in a hospital/healthcare environment or recent student at Inova Health System.</span></li>\n <li><span><b>Certification:</b>&nbsp;</span>\n  <ul>\n   <li><span>Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association required upon start.&nbsp;</span></li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><b>One of the following:&nbsp;</b></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered in radiography&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMIT)&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification 18 months upon acceptance of the offer.</span></li>\n</ul>",
