Job Description: Agriculture Territory Sales Manager-Arkansas Summary/Objective The Agriculture (Ag) Territory Sales Manager will provide agronomic support, maintain and develop customer relationships, and manage sales within the designated area. This position will work with approved distributors in their territory on training, education, product knowledge, and basic day-to-day business objectives. This job requires the ability to direct sell, consult, and work with a variety of customers on various crops and their agronomic needs. The Agriculture (Ag) Territory Sales Manager will report to the Regional Sales Manager. This position will work in the Arkansas area with designated accounts as well as targeted goals to grow the Ag business in that region. Essential Functions Provide agronomic support to established customers Calls on regular or prospective customers to maintain current and generate new business objectives. Manage pricing, marketing, and budgets within the designated territory. Continue working with approved distributors and sales representatives to build continuing growth and promotion of all BRANDT product lines with existing and potential new end users. Assist approved distributors through marketing of all sales materials, product events and promotion of the BRANDT brands. Attend, set up and/or initiate group sales events including but not limited to open houses, lunch and learns, state events, regional events, and national events Present BRANDT products and services to new distributors within the assigned territory Build, provide and promote necessary programs and information for the end users in the ag industry. Ability to answer questions concerning products, sales, and research information Builds and develops long-term relationships with customers, peers and suppliers Provide problem solving skills and the ability to negotiate solutions for customer needs and expectations Ability to analyze, investigate, and provide resolution to customer complaints or issues that may arise Ability to prepare and submit reports to manager regarding sales objectives, territory needs and goals Required Competencies Teamwork/Collaboration Skills Excellent Communication Skills Relationship Building Leadership Customer Focus Independent Self-Starter Ability to multitask Proficiency in Excel and Word Supervisory Responsibility Not applicable to this position. Work Environment The Agriculture (Ag) Territory Sales Manager will be required to work within their designated territory, predominately at the customer and distributor’s locations. This position may require employee to be in an outdoor and/or professional office setting. Classification/Expected Hours of Employment This position is a full-time position and is exempt from minimum wage and overtime pay requirements under federal and all applicable state or local laws. Days and hours of work are based on the needs of customers and distributors. Travel This position requires up to 50% to 75% travel within their designated territory depending on where the TSM lives. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in business, agronomy or similar. Six plus years of experience in agricultural sales or management may be used in lieu of education. Basic knowledge of the agriculture industry with specifics in plant nutrition is required. 1-5 years’ experience in ag sales or related agricultural field preferred. Ability to read and understand labels with mathematical skills to convert and calculate rates as needed. Intermediate computer and software skills are required. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
