Description
This position is responsible for providing application and technical data to Technical, Marketing and Sales groups of the PCG Division for new and existing products, with a focus on product development. This position has a major impact on new product development and application procedure development for specific market segments (we choose to compete in).
Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company’s staff, employees, and business relationships.
This role is not hybrid and will be located at Sherwin-Williams Morikis Global Technology Center located at 6745 Miller Road, Brecksville, OH 44141.
Responsibilities
• Applications testing of new development projects, evaluation projects, or service projects with Technical. This process includes spraying, testing, and writing the evaluation report on the product
• Leads or Initiates product application demonstrations for customers, Sales, and Technical Service, and Technical teams, both in-house and at customers facilities
• Provide customer support as needed in the application component of Customer Service
• Evaluate and recommend new products for the marketplace
• Advise Technical on necessary changes to be made to products during development for best characteristics to Technical
• Decide best possible equipment for test purposes
• Lead and Initiates Application feedback discussions clearly with Marketing and Sales on products being developed
• Provide Voice of the Customer feedback for new products and changes needed to existing products to Technical and Marketing teams
• Assist and communicate competitive product benchmarks for any new product and carefully check on new competitive product announcements
• Provide application assistance in problem solving to Sales and customers
• Lead training for the Automotive Training Department so best possible knowledge is conveyed to customer
• Always adhere to company safety standards
• Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future (e.g., OPT, CPT, H1B, EB-1, etc.)
• Must have at a High School Diploma or equivalent of.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 5 years Automotive Spray Application.
• Excellent painting skills and abilities.
• Knowledge of typical application equipment, processes and procedures.
• Internal applicants must have a standard or better performance rating.
• Will need to be proficient at Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Technical/Vocational Training
• Sherwin Williams Sales or Tech Rep Experience.
• Experience operating laptops and mobile devices.
• 3 years Sales/Tech Rep or Manufacturing experience.
• Experience in Pressure pot, Air Assisted Airless, Air Less, Fleet, and Aerospace application.
Note: Applicant will be asked to demonstrate ability to paint a vehicle.
Travel Requirements: 20% Domestic
This position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, including conversion to H-1B visa.
Successful candidate will be required to sign an Employee Restrictive Covenant Agreement where permitted by law.
