This role ensures that all items are correctly labeled, protected, and documented to maintain product integrity during transit. The Packer plays a key role in supporting on-time delivery and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.</p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Pack automotive parts into boxes, crates, or containers using appropriate materials to prevent damage.</li><li>Verify part numbers, quantities, and quality before packaging.</li><li>Label packages accurately with shipping information, barcodes, and part identification.</li><li>Follow packing instructions and customer-specific packaging requirements.</li><li>Maintain cleanliness and organization of the packing area.</li><li>Assist with staging and moving packed goods to the shipping area.</li><li>Report damaged or defective parts to supervisors immediately.</li><li>Support inventory control by recording packed quantities and updating systems as needed.</li></ul><p><strong>COMPETENCIES</strong></p><ul><li>Ensures accuracy in part identification, counts, and labeling.</li><li>Works quickly and accurately to meet shipping deadlines.</li><li>Maintains high standards in packaging to prevent damage and ensure customer satisfaction.</li><li>Collaborates with shipping, warehouse, and production teams.</li><li>Consistently shows up on time and completes tasks with minimal supervision.</li><li>Follows all safety procedures and uses protective equipment as required</li></ul><p>&nbsp;<strong>EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>High school diploma or GED (required).</li><li>1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing preferred but not required</li></ul><p>&nbsp;<strong>TECHNICAL SKILLS &amp; ABILITIES&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Familiarity with packing materials and methods used in automotive parts shipping.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret packing slips, work orders, and part labels.</li><li>Basic computer or scanner skills for inventory and shipping systems.</li><li>Knowledge of safety and handling procedures for automotive components.</li><li>Experience with barcode scanning and labeling equipment (preferred).</li></ul><p>&nbsp;<strong>SOFT SKILLS</strong></p><ul><li>Clarity of communication, speech and writing</li><li>Dependability&nbsp;</li><li>Adaptability &amp; Trustworthiness</li><li>Trustworthiness</li></ul><p>&nbsp;<strong>PHYICAL DEMANDS&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Standing / walking for long periods of time</li><li>Stooping&nbsp;</li><li>Repetitive motion&nbsp;</li><li>Lifting &ndash; and or move up to 35 pounds regularly and occasionally 50 pounds.&nbsp;</li><li>Reaching&nbsp;</li><li>Workplace chemicals</li><li>Other &ndash; Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus</li></ul><p><strong>WORK ENVIRONMENT</strong></p><p>The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those a team member may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.
