Principal Function:
The Donor Stewardship & Events Coordinator is responsible for implementing and directing the donor stewardship program to thank, recognize and demonstrate the impact of philanthropy to donors at all levels.
This individual will implement a comprehensive donor stewardship calendar. They will successfully execute multiple private donor events and regular, written donor stewardship communications, designed to thank and cultivate Conner Prairie donors.
Candidate must be comfortable managing deadlines and collaborating with multiple departments to ensure excellent experiences for donors. Candidate must have strong professional communication, talent for project management and be comfortable working within databases.
This position is hybrid working evening hours at least once per month to support on-site management of events. Cover letter and resume required. Writing sample encouraged.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:
60% - Stewardship event management
Executes the planning and management of events and special programs designed to steward donors, ranging from small dinners or private tours to large-scale festival and exhibit previews.
Collaborates cross-departmentally to ensure a seamless experience for guests. Manages all details, including invitation mailing and tracking, entertainment, menu, event agenda and scripts for speakers.
Evaluates the quality and impact of donor events to make data-informed improvements annually.
40% - Stewardship communication
Designs and executes creative tactics to communicate the impact of a gift to donors, including: writing impact stories, blogs, donor profiles and email outreach; recording video communications; coordinating large-scale phone call outreach and more.
Collaborates with Marketing & Communications to identify and amplify Conner Prairie impact stories to donors. Collaborates with Research & Evaluation to translate programmatic outcomes into meaningful donor communications.
Executes and assists with custom stewardship experiences for donors, including individual, corporate and foundation supporters, in collaboration with Development team members. Experiences range from ordering flowers to arranging tours of the grounds to coordinating bespoke thank you gifts.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in event management, marketing, communications, English, or other related field; two years fundraising, marketing or event management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience managing events and writing in a professional setting strongly desired.
