          "text": "<p>Canam currently has an opportunity for a permanent, full-time, professional Civil, Structural, Building Engineer at our steel joist and deck manufacturing facility in Mississauga.</p><p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p><ul><li>Design joist members and welds in compliance with applicable codes and standards. (CISC,CSSBI, SJI, AISC,CWB, etc).</li><li>Provide engineering support to the drafting team and other departments.</li><li>Provide technical assistance to current and prospective customers.&#xa0;&#xa0;</li><li>Provide engineering expertise to outside sales offices and potential clients in the usage of joists and related products.</li><li>Prepare work schedules and expedite workflow in order to meet customer and shop work schedules.&#xa0;&#xa0;</li><li>Review and interpret contract documents to ensure all specifications are met during fabrication.</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fabrication and site problems.</li><li>Check special designs, review drafting and shop orders, and sign-off on projects.</li><li>Develop repair procedures and create sketches for misfabrication or site-specific conditions.</li><li>Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.</li><li>Promote a positive work environment through adherence to company policies and effective communication and professional interactions with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.</li><li>Meet departmental objectives as set in conjunction with the Engineering Manager.&#xa0;</li><li>Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.</li></ul>",
