Description
Summary
The Facilities Engineer (Mechanical & Infrastructure Specialist) supports the maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of facility infrastructure and mechanical systems within a manufacturing environment. This role assists with facility projects, contractor coordination, equipment troubleshooting, utility system support, and infrastructure improvements while working closely with senior engineers, maintenance teams, and operations personnel.
The position provides technical support for facility mechanical systems including HVAC, piping, utility systems, process water, compressed air, drainage systems, and other infrastructure supporting manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
Support maintenance, repair, and improvement projects related to facility mechanical and infrastructure systems Assist senior engineers with diagnosing mechanical issues, coordinating repairs, and supporting field activities Review and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, schematics, and technical documentation Assist with facility utility systems including HVAC, process water, compressed air, drainage, and related infrastructure Participate in facility equipment installations, testing, commissioning, and validation activities Collect and analyze facility and operational data to identify inefficiencies and support continuous improvement initiatives Coordinate contractor activities and support project execution to ensure compliance with safety and operational requirements Create and maintain technical drawings, documentation, and project records using CAD software Support preventive maintenance and reliability improvement initiatives Assist with troubleshooting basic electrical issues and coordinate with electrical specialists when required Assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, maintenance guides, and technical documentation Support facility expansion, renovation, and infrastructure improvement projects Comply with all health, safety, environmental, and fire safety regulations Follow established emergency communication protocols and escalate incidents to appropriate personnel according to company procedures Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Architectural Engineering, or related field preferred Experience
2-5 years of experience in industrial facility management, facility engineering, mechanical construction, or related field Experience supporting facility maintenance, infrastructure projects, or utility systems preferred Experience working within manufacturing, industrial, or construction environments preferred Experience utilizing CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar preferred Work Authorization
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship Skills
Understanding of mechanical systems including HVAC, pumps, valves, piping, and utility infrastructure Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and P&IDs Proficiency with CAD software and technical documentation Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Knowledge of manufacturing processes and facility operations Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma preferred Strong communication and teamwork skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Physical Requirements
Must be able to properly and regularly utilize the following PPE for a period of up to 12 hours:
