Description
Overview
Be a Guardian in the Operating Room. Sign-on bonus available
IOM Technologist | MPOWERHealth
Every surgery has a team protecting the patient. You are the one protecting their nervous system.
When a patient goes under anesthesia for a complex spinal or neurological procedure, they place extraordinary trust in the hands around them. As an IOM Technologist at MPOWERHealth, you are a critical part of that circle of care — monitoring the patient's brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves in real time, ready to act the moment something needs attention.
This isn't just a technical role. It's a calling for someone who understands that their skill and focus can mean the difference between a patient walking out of the hospital or not. If that kind of purpose drives you, we want you on our team
Responsibilities
What You'll Do: Protect Patients. Partner with Surgeons. Make a Difference.
Your Role in the Operating Room
Every case is different. Every patient is counting on you. Here's how you show up for them:
• Before the first incision, you meet with patients, review their history, and explain what neuromonitoring means for their safety. You are often their last reassuring voice before surgery begins.Patient Assessment:
• You are the eyes on the nervous system throughout the procedure — continuously reading electrophysiological data, spotting early warning signs, and alerting the surgical team in real time when it matters most.Intraoperative Monitoring:
• You work side-by-side with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR staff. Your communication and expertise directly influence surgical decisions and patient outcomes.Team Collaboration:
• You interpret complex waveforms, correlate findings with surgical events, and document everything with precision. Your records protect the patient long after they leave the OR.Data Integrity:
• You contribute to a culture of continuous improvement — helping make care better not just for today's patients, but for every patient who follows.Quality & Innovation:
What We Offer: A Career That Rewards Your Dedication
Compensation & Benefits
We believe people who protect patients deserve to be well taken care of themselves:
• Sign-On Bonus — because your expertise is worth it from day one
• Competitive salary based on your experience, credentials, and skillset
• Earn up to 100% employer-paid health insurance + $1,500 annual HSA contribution
• Quarterly utilization incentive — up to $2,000 per quarter
• Travel incentive pay: $150–$250 per case day when covering cases on the road
• On-call pay, paid holidays, vacation, and sick time
• 401(k) with competitive company match and immediate vesting
• Access to advanced case training to keep growing your clinical skills
Qualifications
This role is for experienced IOM professionals ready to step in and make an immediate impact:
• CNIM certified or CNIM-eligible
• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field
• Minimum 1 year of IONM experience
• Strong foundation in neuroanatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
• AHA CPR certified | Valid Driver's License
• A communicator and a collaborator — equally comfortable working independently or as part of a surgical team
Bonus Points
• Advanced degree in neuroscience or a related field
• Experience with advanced neuromonitoring modalities
What to Expect on the Job
This is an active, hands-on role in real surgical environments:
• You'll be on your feet — standing, moving, and staying sharp for extended periods
• You'll transport and set up equipment (up to 45 lbs)
• Schedule flexibility required, including on-call availability
• Exposure to OR environments; adherence to safety protocols is essential
Not yet CNIM certified? You don't have to wait. Apply to the MPOWERHealth CNIM Academy — our nationally accredited, paid training program with a 94% certification pass rate.
