The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience overseeing transportation construction projects with a strong focus on quality assurance and quality control, along with a background in transportation construction, design, engineering consulting, or project management. This role offers excellent opportunities for professional growth, leadership development, and career advancement within a collaborative and dynamic environment.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>What You'll Do:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Act as on-site client representation for mid-to-large projects.</li>\n <li>Develop and maintain Quality Management System (QMS)</li>\n <li>Conduct site visits and propose engineering solutions</li>\n <li>Lead and conduct internal and external quality audits of projects and processes, ensuring compliance with specifications, regulations, and company standards.</li>\n <li>Oversee the preparation and review of quality-related project documentation, including quality plans, inspection and test plans, and non-conformance reports.</li>\n <li>Analyze project data (records, schedules, and as-built construction data) to identify quality trends, evaluate root causes of deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with project teams to establish quality objectives, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for all project phases.</li>\n <li>Independently apply quality assurance techniques and analytical methods to solve quality-related problems and improve processes.</li>\n <li>Ensure the quality and timeliness of deliverables across all projects, with a focus on continuous improvement.</li>\n <li>Provide training and mentorship to project teams.</li>\n <li>Participate in company activities and professional associations.</li>\n <li>Perform business development and marketing.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with design-build contractors and designers to develop teaming relationships</li>\n <li>Develop relationships with the Owner, staff, and the owner's leaders</li>\n <li>Assist with proposal preparation and business development efforts</li>\n <li>Provide support for staffing and recruiting efforts</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Who We Are Looking For:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>15 years of progressive experience in quality assurance/quality control, preferably with experience on design-build transportation projects.</li>\n <li>Experience in transportation construction, transportation design, engineering consulting, or project management is considered beneficial.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education/Knowledge:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree preferred in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of Virginia Department of Transportation’s (DOT) specifications, standards, and construction expectations with an emphasis on design-build requirements, including but not limited to contract management, contract administration, and quality assurance/quality control, is strongly preferred. Similar state or federal DOT design-build experience will be considered.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of engineering principles of construction management and project controls.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of one or more of the following services: critical path method scheduling, cost estimating, project budgeting, delay analysis, constructibility and design review, inspections, quantity take-offs.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Required Certifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Professional Engineering Licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required. A candidate who can obtain a license within three months may be considered.</li>\n <li>Possess OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification or obtain within 3 months of hire.</li>\n <li>Ability to obtain VDEQ Dual Inspector certification</li>\n <li>Ability to obtain VDOT Materials certifications</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Skills and Abilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Bluebeam; additional capabilities in P6 preferred, and CADD desired.</li>\n <li>Serve as the project team leader and develop the project team to meet project objectives in a timely, positive, and collaborative manner.</li>\n <li>Work within a project team to complete project assignments.</li>\n <li>Execute tasks independently.</li>\n <li>Obtain and maintain industry certifications specific to duties assigned.</li>\n <li>Read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and technical reports.</li>\n <li>Maintain records and prepare reports/correspondence related to the work.</li>\n <li>Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.</li>\n <li>Develop innovative, creative solutions to problems, while utilizing analytical skills.</li>\n <li>Deeply focus on the details of an assignment and then summarize findings for presentation to the project team leader.</li>\n <li>Listen and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.</li>\n <li>Effectively communicate complex information and ideas verbally and in writing.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with project partners and clients, proactively managing conflicts, maintaining relationships, and maintaining accountability.</li>\n <li>Positively represent MBP within and outside of the workplace by acting with integrity in interpersonal interactions.</li>\n <li>Stand and sit as needed on project work sites, climb ladders, work at heights, and work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions.</li>\n <li>Safely navigate construction work sites with uneven terrain.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Guidance/Responsibility:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Reports to the Group Manager in collaboration with the Transportation Service Line Leaders.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Supervisory:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Supervise team members in technical/administrative roles and provide training</li>\n <li>Lead project teams and oversee utilization</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What We Offer:</strong></p>\n<p>We’re focused on providing the tools and support you need to succeed, both personally and professionally.
