Site Supervisors impact the lives of youth and families through direct care, organization, supervision and well-being of participants in the sports activity. S/He assists officials and ensures quality programming and a positive experience for participants and spectators.</p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</strong></p><p>1. Creates a positive environment for all participants, ensuring growth and development.</p><p>2. Builds relationships among participants and spectators to pro-actively gain and retain members.</p><p>3. Exemplifies appropriate behavior at all times. Acts as a role model for participants and spectators.</p><p>4. Understands and implements rules of assigned sport, focusing on participant experience and safety at all times.</p><p>5. Ensures site is safe by pro-actively managing risk and responding to first aid or other issues in a timely manner, reporting any issues per program processes.</p><p>6. Provides interpretation and demonstration to all participants, including those with special needs.</p><p>7. Cultivates positive relationships and maintains effective communication with parents, children and other staff. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.</p><p>8. Actively participates in department and branch meetings and trainings.</p><p>9. Performs other duties as assigned.</p><p><strong>YMCA COMPETENCIES (Team Leader):</strong></p><p>Inclusion</p><p>Communication &amp; Influence</p><p>Critical Thinking &amp; Decision Making</p><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p><p>1. At least 18 years of age</p><p>2. Minimum 1 year experience in assigned program area</p><p>3. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills</p><p>4. Ability to work independently with attention to detail required</p><p>5. Previous experience working with children preferred</p><p>6. Demonstrated maturity, sound judgment, and possession of strong sense of responsibility</p><p>7. Demonstrated leadership, dependability &amp; flexibility in work hours</p><p>8. Complete before first shift: YMCA Cause &amp; Culture, Child Abuse Prevention and program-specific trainings; CPR/AED/First Aid (provided by the YMCA)</p><p>9.
