The CDL Driver will be responsible for operating commercial motor vehicles to transport supplies, equipment, and other necessary resources to assist affected areas and response personnel.</p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Duties/Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs), including trucks, to transport goods, supplies, and equipment to designated locations, such as distribution centers, shelters, or disaster zones.</li><li>Safely and efficiently transport cargo, adhering to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies.</li><li>Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods to prevent damage during transit.</li><li>Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, documenting any issues or maintenance needs.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.</li><li>Communicate effectively with dispatchers, logistics personnel, and other team members to coordinate deliveries and provide updates on delivery status.</li><li>Navigate using maps, GPS devices, and other routing tools to determine the most efficient delivery routes.</li><li>Operate vehicle in various weather conditions, including potentially hazardous conditions associated with hurricane aftermath.</li><li>Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including those related to loading, unloading, and operating CMVs in disaster zones.</li><li>Assist with other tasks as needed, such as setting up distribution sites or helping with the unloading of supplies</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Valid Commercial Driver&#39;s License (CDL) Class A or B, with appropriate endorsements (e.g., Hazmat, Tanker, if required for specific cargo).</li><li>Clean driving record with no major violations</li><li>Ability to operate CMVs safely and efficiently in various road conditions, including potentially damaged or obstructed roads.</li><li>Strong knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and safety procedures.</li><li>Be prepared to deploy to disaster-affected areas, often with short notice.</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Work Environment:</strong></p><p>Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.</p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p><p>Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach.
