RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></span><strong><br></strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><em><strong>Prepare Youth for Success</strong></em></span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"> Creates an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"> Promotes and stimulates daily arts program participation as well as participation in designated national and special event programs.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"> Orients new members to the arts program, special events, and opportunities as well as club safety, and disciplinary rules.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"> Provides guidance and role modeling to members.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><em><strong>Program</strong></em></span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"> Implements, administers, monitors and evaluates programs, services and activities for members.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"> Develops and posts weekly and monthly program plans</span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"> Monitors and evaluates programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members and quality in programs.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"> Recognizes club members for program participation and achievement.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"> Maintains records to track attendance and participation.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><em><strong>Supervision</strong></em></span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"> Maintains order and discipline of club members.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"> Supervises and trains volunteers and program assistants</span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"> Ensures a productive work environment by participating in weekly club staff meetings</span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"> Works as a team member with &ldquo;visiting artists&rdquo; SKILLS:</strong></span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"> High School diploma or GED.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"> Combined experience and/or formal training equivalent to minimum of three years where:</span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">1. experience in working with youth and knowledge of youth development gained and,</span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">2. formal training, knowledge and/or experience in arts and crafts gained.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"> Knowledge of youth development.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"> Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"> Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"> Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"> Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.</span><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"> Utilizes resources for free and donated supplies and encourages donations from community contacts.</span></p><p><br><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><strong>ENVIRONMENT &amp; WORKING CONDITIONS</strong>:</span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Daily contact with club staff, club and teen center members, outside organizations and individuals to plan, coordinate and deliver programs. Normal internal office environment. Travel to special events and field trips required. Must be able to work daily afternoon/evening hours. Occasional weekend and work required to accomplish objectives. The job requires the ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing in excess of 25lbs.
