The Toolmaker will provide support for various aspects of production and prototyping. They will perform many tasks associated with fabrication and repair of tools, fixtures and other support projects or assemblies. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Employee responsibilities and duties:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Accountable for regular and consistent attendance.</li>\n <li>Contribute to continuous improvement activities.</li>\n <li>Adequate and timely completion of assigned tasks.</li>\n <li>Daily communication and documentation using Microsoft Office products.</li>\n <li>Maintain area and equipment cleanliness/organization.</li>\n <li>Report problems to Supervisor.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Tool Maker responsibilities and duties:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Operate machinery in a safe consistent manner.</li>\n <li>Interface with supervisor and/or area lead regarding production orders.</li>\n <li>Ability to choose proper work holding, tooling and operation sequences dependent on part features and required tolerances.</li>\n <li>Perform in process part inspection using manual inspection equipment.</li>\n <li>Interface with inspection department regarding inspections that exceed the capabilities of manual inspection equipment.</li>\n <li>Complete daily documentation regarding count, inspection and machine maintenance.</li>\n <li>Deburr and package parts before they are moved to their next location.</li>\n <li>Create tool paths off of provided CAD models.</li>\n <li>Interpret G and M code.</li>\n <li>Indicate working holding and custom fixtures.</li>\n <li>Probing machine offsets and setting tool heights.</li>\n <li>Grind tool profiles when required for custom jobs.</li>\n <li>Interface with engineers to provide support for prototyping and fixture design.</li>\n <li>Able to work independently or without assistance.</li>\n <li>Provide support for other toolmakers in the area.</li>\n <li>Improve functions and activities of the model shop.</li>\n <li>Able to run majority of machines in Model Shop or highly proficient on specialized machine.</li>\n <li>Provide training support for new hires.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Common Equipment Used: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Basic hand tools</li>\n <li>Tool holders</li>\n <li>Modular Fixturing</li>\n <li>Calipers</li>\n <li>Micrometers</li>\n <li>Drop Indicators</li>\n <li>Gage Pins and Blocks</li>\n <li>Ring and Plug gages</li>\n <li>Height Gages</li>\n <li>Fowler Trimos Height gages</li>\n <li>Toolmaker Microscopes</li>\n <li>Optical Comparators</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Machines: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Manual and programmable Bridgeport mills</li>\n <li>Manual turret and machine lathes</li>\n <li>Cylindrical and surface grinders</li>\n <li>Haas VF-2s, TL-15, CL-ls</li>\n</ul>\n<p>CAM and CAD Software:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Crea</li>\n <li>Esprit</li>\n <li>Fusion 360</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>A team player who collaborates.</li>\n <li>Familiar with safety features/dangers of machinery associated with tool building.</li>\n <li>Must possess competent verbal and written communication skills as required to interface with other departments and company personnel in a service function.</li>\n <li>Must be adaptable to changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.</li>\n <li>Must demonstrate excellent troubleshooting techniques and critical thinking skills.</li>\n <li>Competent in maintaining databases or archives of product counts and inspections.</li>\n <li>Knowledgeable of common CNC and manual machining practices.</li>\n <li>Ability to read drawings and specifications with a proficient understanding of GD& T.</li>\n <li>Knowledgeable of manufacturing practices for various materials.</li>\n <li>Knowledgeable of various machine tooling and tool holder types.</li>\n <li>Familiar with common fixture building practices and requirements.</li>\n <li>Ability to choose proper tooling, work holding and operation sequences dependent on required geometry tolerances.</li>\n <li>Proficient with CAM and CAD software.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Education/Experience</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Must have High School diploma or GED.</li>\n <li>5 + years of experience with various types of machining and manufacturing.</li>\n <li>Technical certificate or program completion in manual or CNC machining/CNC programming preferred.</li>\n <li>Prior tool building experience or training preferred.</li>\n <li>5 + years of internal or relevant experience.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>About Hamilton</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Diverse portfolio of exciting and innovative design projects.</li>\n <li>Tremendous opportunities for professional growth and advancement.</li>\n <li>Commitment to sustainable design.</li>\n <li>Competitive Compensation.</li>\n <li>Excellent Benefit Package (medical, dental, vision insurance, paid vacation time, paid sick time, disability insurance, 401k, tuition reimbursement and much more).</li>\n <li>Solid Stable Company.</li>\n <li>Drug free workplace.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Mid Salary</h2>",
