    "description": "<h2>Responsibilities & Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The ​Senior NGDE Engineer (Linux OS Engineer) is expected to be able to accomplish the following:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Design, deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise Linux environments (RHEL, Rocky, CentOS, Ubuntu, or equivalent). </li>\n <li>Build and maintain secure Linux OS baselines in accordance with DoD STIGs, NIST, and RMF requirements. </li>\n <li>Perform system hardening, patch management, and vulnerability remediation for classified environments. </li>\n <li>Automate system configuration and deployment using tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or similar automation frameworks. </li>\n <li>Engineer and maintain systems supporting cross-domain data transfer and multi-level security (MLS) environments. </li>\n <li>Support integration and sustainment of Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) enabling secure data exchange between networks of different classification levels. </li>\n <li>Collaborate with security teams to ensure proper data flow enforcement, access controls, and auditing in classified environments. </li>\n <li>Troubleshoot and resolve issues impacting secure information flow between domains. </li>\n <li>Support the architecture and sustainment of Next Generation Digital Environment (NGDE) platforms. </li>\n <li>Integrate Linux-based services with enterprise infrastructure including identity management, container platforms, and virtualization solutions. </li>\n <li>Assist in modernization initiatives including cloud integration, DevSecOps pipelines, and platform automation. </li>\n <li>Implement and maintain security controls aligned with RMF, NIST 800-53, and DISA STIGs. </li>\n <li>Conduct system auditing, log analysis, and compliance verification. </li>\n <li>Support security assessments, ATO processes, and continuous monitoring activities. </li>\n <li>Ensure all systems meet classified operational security requirements. </li>\n <li>Monitor system performance, availability, and resource utilization. </li>\n <li>Implement high-availability solutions and disaster recovery strategies. </li>\n <li>Provide Tier III engineering support for critical Linux infrastructure. </li>\n <li>Develop and maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, and standard operating procedures. </li>\n <li>Participate in engineering design reviews and architecture discussions. </li>\n <li>Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the Linux engineering team. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Active TS/SCI + CI Poly clearance</li>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). </li>\n <li>BS, 10-12 years of relevant experience; MS 8-10 years; PhD, 5-7 years.</li>\n <li>5–7 years Linux administration experience in enterprise or government environments or 8+ years of experience in Linux system administration or engineering. </li>\n <li>Security+ CE certification.</li>\n <li>RHCSA or RHCE certification.</li>\n <li>Experience implementing DISA STIGs, NIST controls, and RMF compliance requirements. </li>\n <li>Ability to create SOPs, playbooks (runbooks), and architecture documentation. </li>\n <li>Experience troubleshooting across multi-level classification domains.  </li>\n <li>Experience troubleshooting compute, network, storage.</li>\n <li>VMware/KVM familiarity. </li>\n <li>Deep understanding of designing and implementing ITSM workflows. </li>\n <li>Hands-on automation experience with Ansible, Bash, Python. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>CKA certification</li>\n <li>RHEL Satellite/Foreman, Kickstart, IdM/FreeIPA, HashiCorp Vault. </li>\n <li>Container/Cloud: Podman, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/GovCloud, Azure. </li>\n <li>Terraform, registry/artifact management. </li>\n <li>Monitoring/SIEM: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch. </li>\n <li>Experience working with endpoints that support a multi-level classification environment. </li>\n <li>Strong proficiency with RHEL and Debian/Ubuntu systems, services, and package management. </li>\n <li>Deep expertise with enterprise Linux distributions (RHEL preferred). </li>\n <li>Experience supporting classified environments and cross-domain systems. </li>\n <li>Strong knowledge of: \n  <ul>\n   <li>Linux system internals </li>\n   <li>Networking (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls) </li>\n   <li>System hardening and vulnerability management </li>\n   <li>Automation tools (Ansible, Bash, Python, etc.) </li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>We are seeking a ​Senior NGDE Engineer (Linux OS Engineer) ​ to join our Task Order to build, harden, and sustain mission-critical Linux platforms in a highly secure enterprise on the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Solutions for the Information Technology Enterprise III (SITE III).
