    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong><u>D440 Special Project Payload Launch Control Engineering</u></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Department 440 develops in-house embedded systems and integrates government furnished equipment to support VIRGINIA and SEAWOLF class related payload and launch control Special Projects. D440 is responsible for Systems, Hardware, and Test. D440 works closely with Software Engineering D454.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Department 440 offers a flexible work arrangement that may allow some work to be performed remotely.  This varies from position to position based on work scope and project needs.  Please ask for more details on how it applies to this opening during discussions with the department. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>SPECIAL PROJECTS SIMULATION & TEST</u></strong></p>\n<p><strong><u> </u></strong></p>\n<p>The Payload Launch Control Special Projects Simulation & Test group is responsible for special projects qualification test, simulators/simulations, and test equipment.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Simulation and Test responsibilities include but are not limited to:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Developing system and component level test procedures and scenarios that trace to and verify requirements</li>\n <li>Participating in environmental testing</li>\n <li>Finding and troubleshooting bugs in the system</li>\n <li>Developing and maintaining custom simulators and simulations, which model the behavior of ship systems and provide real-time input/output interfaces</li>\n <li>Developing custom test equipment, used in construction grooming</li>\n <li>Preparing test reports to document as-run test results</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace or Robotics Engineering</li>\n <li>0-5 years of engineering experience</li>\n <li>Active or ability to acquire DOD Secret Security Clearance; TS preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with computer languages similar to Python</li>\n <li>Test or troubleshooting experience</li>\n <li>Navy Submarine Experience</li>\n <li>Experience with Systems Engineering lifecycle and standards</li>\n <li>Experience with IBM Rational DOORS </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Skills</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The following skills are crucial for this role:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Able to work in a fast paced, team environment, coordinating with other disciplines, while meeting schedule and budget constraints</li>\n <li>Self-motivated with the ability to think objectively and drive technical solutions to successful conclusion</li>\n <li>Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills, as well as the ability to present technical and programmatic content to internal and external stakeholders</li>\n</ul>",
