The Board of Directors provide governance and oversight to the operations of the organization, and work with key leaders to develop strategic plans and mission-centric initiatives. All members are committed to FRIENDS’ mission and have a vested interest in the organization, the individuals it serves, and the community which we live.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Our Vision</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>For individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, we will insure they have a voice in the community, and access to person centered supports that promote independence and choice.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>For our families, we serve as a support and informational network. And work cooperatively to ensure lifelong supports for their loved ones.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>For our community, we promote acceptance and understanding through awareness and education, and enhance our community through opportunities for inclusive living.</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Board Commitments </strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p>As the governing body of FRIENDS, the Board ensures the organization fulfills its mission, operates ethically, and maintains effective leadership, strategic direction, and adequate resources. Board members are expected to serve a minimum of one two-year term, with the option to serve consecutive one-year terms thereafter.</p>\n<p>Key Commitments</p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Mission &amp; Strategy: Guide FRIENDS' mission by participating in strategic planning and key initiatives.</span></li>\n<li><span>Fundraising: Support fundraising efforts by giving personally and engaging donors and sponsors.</span></li>\n<li><span>Community Advocacy: Act as an advocate and ambassador for FRIENDS within the community.</span></li>\n<li><span>Oversight: Ensure ethical and legal fiscal management by reviewing budgets, audits, and key policies.</span></li>\n<li><span>CEO Oversight: Hire and evaluate the CEO to ensure strong organizational leadership.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p>Board members play a vital role in advancing FRIENDS’ impact through active engagement and stewardship.</p>",
