In collaboration with Engineering and Product teams, we improve the performance and reliability of the products we support.</p><p><b>Partner with the best</b></p><p>You will apply statistical data analysis and an understanding of networking protocols to diagnose and solve some of the Internet's most difficult content delivery/cloud challenges. You will work with cross-functional teams to understand and benchmark the performance of our key products and services and influence their evolution.</p><p>As a Site Reliability Engineer II, you will be responsible for:</p><ul><li class=\"lst\">Investigating and troubleshoot networking problems within Linux based networking stack</li><li class=\"lst\">Monitoring the functioning and performance of the networking infrastructure via Prometheus metric systems and Grafana dashboards</li><li class=\"lst\">Solving complex problems in a timely manner and avoid recurrence through proactive troubleshooting, automation, and systems programming</li><li class=\"lst\">Building software tools and systems to automate analytical tasks and workflows to increase efficiency and reliability</li><li class=\"lst\">Leveraging skills in data analysis, network diagnostics and debugging tools to characterize performance and recommend improvements</li><li class=\"lst\">Participating in on-call rotations, guiding restoration and repair of service-impacting issues</li></ul><p><b>Do what you love</b></p><p>To be successful in this role you will:</p><ul><li class=\"lst\">Have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or its equivalent experience</li><li class=\"lst\">Have experience and knowledge with L7 traffic management using technologies like envoy, haproxy, nginx</li><li class=\"lst\">Demonstrate experience with coding in one or more of the following languages (Python, Perl, R, Java, SQL)</li><li class=\"lst\">Have experience and knowledge with networking technologies such as routing, firewall and DNS</li><li class=\"lst\">Have experience with Linux systems and tools such as netstats, traceroute, tcpdump</li><li class=\"lst\">Have experience using automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, or Salt Stack</li></ul><p><b>Work in a way that works for you</b></p><p>FlexBase, Akamai's Global Flexible Working Program, is based on the principles that are helping us create the best workplace in the world. The base salary for this position ranges from $68,900 - $143,100/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
