As an industrial marine construction company, we operate in Victoria's Upper Harbour and at sites around Vancouver Island. The Construction Labourer will support our crew in constructing, installing, and repairing marine structures and land-based foundations. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, this role is ideal for individuals seeking hands-on experience in a dynamic work environment. Previous experience in marine construction is an asset but not required.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Responsibilities:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Assist in the construction, installation, repair, or removal of deep pile foundations and various marine structures, such as ramps, docks, timber wharves, and bulkheads.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Perform general site maintenance, including cleanup and material handling.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Promptly communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries to the supervisor.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Contribute to improving operations by streamlining work processes and working cooperatively with the team to ensure high-quality service.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Education and Experience:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Experience in marine construction is an asset, but not required.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Welding and cutting experience is an asset.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">SVOP certification and boat operation experience are assets.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Firm understanding of rigging fundamentals is preferred.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Chainsaw experience/ticket is an asset.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Willingness to work in remote areas and travel for out-of-town projects is required.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Valid driver's license is required.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Knowledge and Skills:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Ability to set goals and manage multiple tasks and initiatives.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Positive attitude and strong work ethic are essential.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Highly flexible, with strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a diverse team environment.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Ability to handle situations sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Work Conditions:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Physical ability to lift at least 75 lbs.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Travel to off-site locations is required.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Safety equipment, including steel-toed safety boots and safety glasses/goggles, is required.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Overtime may be required.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Awareness of hazards associated with the trade, such as working at heights and exposure to water.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Work is primarily outdoors, often in varying weather conditions.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">Application Process:</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds and cultures to join our team, including Indigenous (status, non-status, Métis, Inuit) and non-Indigenous candidates.
