In this role, you will manage complex and large electric transmission projects from pre-construction to close-out, and drive them to on-time and on-budget completion. </p>\n<h2>You will be responsible for</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Planning, executing, and managing projects to meet project schedule, cost, and scope</li>\n <li>Developing schedules, budgets, and risk management plans</li>\n <li>Managing schedule and cost performance</li>\n <li>Managing financial forecasting and reporting cycle timeliness</li>\n <li>Performing change control and implementing risk mitigations </li>\n <li>Managing and coordinating with project teams and stakeholders (e.g. utility team members, engineers, contractors, regulatory agencies, environmental, land and permitting, legal, procurement, construction, etc.)</li>\n <li>Managing and overseeing project cost and schedule control</li>\n <li>Driving timely progress and clearing obstacles on project activities</li>\n <li>Overseeing contractor performance</li>\n <li>Proactively anticipate potential risks and issues and have mitigative and preventative plans in place </li>\n <li>Preparing and providing reporting and information to project stakeholders and executives</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>You will have the following skills and qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering or similar (advanced degree(s) is preferred)</li>\n <li>8 plus years of work experience in the electric utility industry (preferred) or heavy industrial fields such as oil and gas, chemicals, petrochemicals etc., in-project/construction management, engineering management, risk management, and/or contractor management role(s)</li>\n <li>Strong experience in construction project management and project controls </li>\n <li>Initiative and drive to progress challenging projects independently</li>\n <li>Well-developed team leadership and stakeholder coordination skills</li>\n <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li>\n <li>Ability to synthesize complex information and tasks and develop well thought-out plans and responses</li>\n <li>Ability to manage multiple project scopes and tasks simultaneously</li>\n <li>Adaptability to function effectively in a dynamic team environment</li>\n <li>Ability to interact effectively with external clients and internal colleagues</li>\n <li>Successful client management track record is desired</li>\n <li>Knowledge of common construction related software including Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office tools is desired</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Applicants are encouraged to submit a CV with publications (feel free to include publications that are in review or pending) [not restricted to 1 page].</em> </p>\n<h2>Life @ Exponent</h2>\n<p>To learn more about life at Exponent and our impact, please visit the following links:https://www.exponent.com/careers/life-exponenthttps://www.exponent.com/company/our-impact</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Attracting, inspiring, developing, and rewarding exceptional people with diverse backgrounds and expertise are central to our corporate culture. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent.
