Every third weekend; 2 holiday requirements a year, one summer holiday and one winter holiday. (Vital Signs Clean and dress wounds, POCT, Assist Rapid assessment nurse in giving medications or any interventions.</li><li>Vehicle extraction of injured patients (Patients arriving to ED via private auto needing assistance out of vehicle): Maintain C-spine, stabilize broken bones with splinting and remove from car.</li><li>Room patients in Emergency Department according to acuity and discretion of areas available after discussion with Flow Supervisor.</li><li>Report and document all changes and complications in flow to Supervisor.</li><li>After rooming patients’ initial assessments for need of specific monitoring. (Cardiac Monitors and/or Pulse Oximetry)</li><li>Document all intake and output.</li><li>Maintain level of communication with RN for VS out of normal limits, or any changes in patient’s status.</li><li>Maintain accurate vitals based on patients’ acuity/severity (Q15, Q30, Q45, Q1hr, Q2hr, Q4hr)</li><li>Assist healthcare team with holding for procedures such as Lumbar Puncture, IV catheter insertion, Laceration Repairs, Suctioning, Urinary Catheterization, POCT, other items as necessary.</li><li>Perform EKG’s, Nasal Washes, Flu Testing, Visual Acuity, Phlebotomy, including Stat Phlebotomy lab testing: bilirubin test, newborn screen test (for outpatients during weekend hours)</li><li>Perform POCT for assigned patients: Urinalysis, Rapid Strep Test, Gastro/Hemoccult, HCG test, Glucose Test.</li><li>Transport patients to the Inpatient units, radiology, MRI, Operating Room, ECG, Ultrasound, PICU, NICU, and multiple clinics. (Monitor patients on oxygen and pulse ox monitors/cardiac monitors during transports)</li><li>Respond to “Stat Responses” in Emergency Department.</li><li>Initiate and continue CPR for patients in Cardiac Arrest.</li><li>Respond to all “Code Blues” on the first and ground floor with stretcher, EMS bag, AED and are prepared to begin resuscitation on scene.</li><li>Function in Trauma Codes and Alerts. Remove patient clothes, apply cardiac leads, pulse OX, hold C-spine stabilization, get vital signs, assist with rolling patients, CPR, Re-stock room and trauma supplies.</li><li>Apply cast shoe, non-articulating boot, knee immobilizer, slings, c-collars, Miami j collar, trauma collar, wrist splints.</li><li>Crutch fitting and teaching.</li><li>Assist Orthopedic Residents in reductions of fractures during conscious sedations, splinting and casting.</li><li>Stock Supplies and maintain equipment within the Emergency Department</li><li>Stock supplies and linens for EMS.</li><li>Maintain assigned zone’s par stock, linens and IV trays.</li><li>Complete task cards.</li><li>Sign off stat response stretcher to make sure it’s appropriate and functioning.</li><li>Sit in 1 to 1 with patients that present psychiatric problems.
