We utilize our vast experience, expertise and innovative ideas to assist clients in improving lives through a well-thought-out and implemented transportation system.</p>\n   <p><strong>DESCRIPTION</strong>&nbsp;</p>\n   <p><strong>Michael Baker International&nbsp;</strong>is seeking an entry-level&nbsp;<strong>Highway Engineering Associate</strong>&nbsp;to join our&nbsp;<strong>Moon Township, PA&nbsp;</strong>team. Under direct supervision, the successful candidate will assist Civil Engineers and Project Managers with the preparation of transportation plans and transportation studies.&nbsp;</p>\n   <p>Specific duties will include:&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>\n   <ul>\n    <li>Assist with the preparation of designs, design calculations, technical reports and&nbsp;drawings for highway &amp; railroad projects for a variety of clients&nbsp;</li>\n    <li>Work closely with senior engineers to complete design and/or analysis of roadways, railways, trails, sidewalks and other transportation infrastructure&nbsp;</li>\n    <li>Use design software to electronically apply engineering fundamentals in construction and right-of-way plan set preparation&nbsp;</li>\n    <li>Research/investigate solutions and report findings&nbsp;</li>\n    <li>Learn and understand the activities involved in assembling transportation project&nbsp;contract documents&nbsp;</li>\n    <li>Preparing quantities and construction cost estimates&nbsp;</li>\n    <li>Traveling to job sites for site visits, data collection, and meetings, as required&nbsp;</li>\n    <li>Providing technical support for meetings&nbsp;</li>\n    <li>Other duties as directed by senior staff&nbsp;</li>\n   </ul>\n   <p><strong>PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS</strong>&nbsp;</p>\n   <ul>\n    <li>Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited school&nbsp;</li>\n    <li>0-2 years of experience in highway engineering experience, under a registered professional engineer&nbsp;</li>\n    <li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite&nbsp;</li>\n    <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills&nbsp;</li>\n    <li>Knowledge of CADD software; experience with Bentley MicroStation and OpenRoads is a plus&nbsp;</li>\n    <li>Project experience and/or coursework including transportation engineering and highway design&nbsp;</li>\n    <li>E.I.T certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire</li>\n   </ul>\n   <p><strong>COMPENSATION</strong><br>\n    The approximate compensation range for this position is $62,000 - $75,000 per year.
