Description
Data/Administrative Clerk - College Passport
University Settlement partners with 40,000+ New Yorkers in Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn every year to build on our collective strengths as we achieve healthy, stable, and remarkable lives. For nearly 140 years, we’ve fought poverty and systemic inequality by building highly effective social services in collaboration with our neighbors. Established in 1886 as the first Settlement House in the United States, we bring the values of that movement into the 21st century by meeting New Yorkers where they live, listening deeply to all perspectives, and creating space for responsive cooperation.
Joining with our neighbors to make stable foundations where people of all ages can grow and pursue their dreams, we build community strength. We infuse a commitment to civic engagement, equality, and communal action into each of our programs, which include early childhood education, youth development, healthy aging, mental health and wellness, English classes for adult immigrants, community centers, and the arts.
The goal of the University Settlement College Passport program is to support young people in completing secondary education and successfully transitioning into post-secondary education and employment. Established in 1886 as the first Settlement House in the United States, we bring the values of that movement into the 21st century by meeting New Yorkers where they live, listening deeply to all perspectives, and creating space for responsive cooperation. \\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\nJoining with our neighbors to make stable foundations where people of all ages can grow and pursue their dreams, we build community strength. We infuse a commitment to civic engagement, equality, and communal action into each of our programs, which include early childhood education, youth development, healthy aging, mental health and wellness, English classes for adult immigrants, community centers, and the arts. \\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\nThe goal of the University Settlement College Passport program is to support young people in completing secondary education and successfully transitioning into post-secondary education and employment. The program is designed to help young people, who are in school and out-of-school and out-of work, to assess, set, and obtain their educational and career goals. \\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\nResponsibilities:\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tOrganize and maintain physical and digital filing systems\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tFile, retrieve, and manage paperwork in a timely and accurate manner\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tAssist with document preparation, copying, scanning, and distribution\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tSupport team members with administrative tasks as needed\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tMaintain office supplies and assist with inventory tracking\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tEnsure office spaces remain clean, organized, and functional\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tAssist with data entry and basic record keeping\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tProvide general support for meetings, including preparing materials and setting up spaces\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\nQualifications:\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tHigh School Diploma or HSE required (some college coursework a plus)\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tOne plus years of experience in data entry, and office management\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, & Outlook) \\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tStrong data entry skills with a high accuracy rate and attention to detail \\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tExcellent organizational skills \\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tAbility to maintain confidentiality \\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tAbility to work independently and as part of a team \\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tEffective communication skills (written and verbal) \\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\tAbility to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines \\r\\n\\t\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\nWork Schedule: Seasonal Part Time (3 months), Monday - Thursday, 10:00am - 3:00pm, Friday, 10:00am - 4:00pm, 21 hours per week, Hybrid Schedule \\r\\n\\r\\n \\r\\n\\r\\nWe are committed to building a diverse and inclusive community.
