As a Foster &amp; Transfer Assistant, you&rsquo;ll help connect animals with foster families, coordinate placements and transfers, and support the volunteers who who make lifesaving care possible.</p><p>This is an ideal role for someone who loves both animals and people and especially someone who is organized, responsive, compassionate, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.</p><p><strong>What You&#39;ll Do</strong></p><p>In this role, you will support the daily operations of the ARL&rsquo;s foster and transfer program by helping coordinate animal foster placements, maintain records, and ensure animals receive the care and resources they need while outside the shelter environment. You&rsquo;ll communicate regularly with foster families to provide guidance, answer questions, and help coordinate veterinary and behavioral support for animals in foster.</p><p>You&rsquo;ll also assist with preparing animals and documentation for transfers while partnering closely with the Adoptions team to help foster animals successfully find permanent homes. Part of your work will include gathering updates, photos, and bios from foster families for adoption and marketing purposes, while helping maintain positive relationships with foster volunteers and rescue partners.</p><p>This role also supports foster recruitment and engagement efforts and requires someone who can problem-solve quickly, stay organized, and provide excellent support in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift throughout the day.</p><p><strong>What We&#39;re Looking For</strong></p><p data-pasted=\"true\">Successful candidates are strong communicators who enjoy working with both people and animals. They are organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining professionalism and compassion. The ideal candidate is patient, adaptable, solution-focused, and comfortable navigating emotional or time-sensitive situations with care and good judgment.</p><p>Qualified applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and preferably at least one year of animal handling or animal care experience. Experience in customer service, volunteer coordination, veterinary medicine, animal sheltering, or rescue work is highly valued. Candidates should also have basic computer and Microsoft Office skills and possess a valid driver&rsquo;s license with an acceptable driving record.</p><p data-start=\"2977\" data-end=\"3321\"><strong data-start=\"2977\" data-end=\"2999\">Working Conditions</strong><br data-start=\"2999\" data-end=\"3002\">This position involves physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds, as well as extended periods of standing or sitting.
