Description

Description The Loan Review Analyst is responsible for conducting independent, in-depth evaluations of the Bank’s commercial loan portfolio to assess credit quality, risk rating accuracy, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards. Additionally, the role contributes to the continuous enhancement of loan review methodologies and collaborates cross-functionally with credit, lending, and risk management teams to support sound credit decision-making and portfolio management. This role requires a strong foundation in financial and/or credit analysis and commercial lending, along with the ability to identify emerging risks and trends across various industries and loan types. Responsibilities Conducts routine reviews of diverse loan portfolios, including commercial, equipment, SBA, mortgage, HELOC, and participations, to evaluate asset quality, documentation completeness, and adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards. Consolidates review findings and supporting analyses into clear, concise executive summaries for use by senior management and examiners. Monitors the overall credit health of the loan portfolio, identifying shifts that may warrant changes in lending practices or reclassification of assets. Evaluates internal lending processes such as loan approvals, policy exception tracking, supervisory loan-to-value limits, underwriting practices, covenant monitoring, internal controls, concentration risk reporting, and ALLL methodology.  Validates the accuracy, completeness, and quality of loan documentation and financial analysis supporting credit decisions.  Assesses the adequacy and effectiveness of the bank’s loan policy, recommending updates as needed.  Interprets findings and documents conclusions on problem loans; reviews management and resolution strategies, including the effectiveness of loan workout plans.  Provides consultative support to loan officers, lending staff, auditors, and examiners by clarifying loan and borrower details, facilitating collaborative discussions to align perspectives, educate stakeholders, and enhance decision-making through shared insights. Contributes to various lending-related initiatives and projects as assigned, supporting strategic goals, process improvements, or regulatory requirements. Performs additional duties as assigned or required. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field required. Strong preference for Finance or Accounting major or concentration; however, equivalent work experience may substitute for a different academic focus. 2 to 4 years of experience in loan review, financial analysis, credit review, or financial examinations (e.g., with regulatory agencies or supervisory bodies) required. Demonstrated knowledge across various loan types, but special emphasis on non-owner occupied commercial real estate and C&I borrowers.  Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent PC skills, including word processing and spreadsheets via Microsoft Office products as well as custom applications and systems. Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable reports for upper management. Excellent analytical, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment. Must be self-motivated with strong initiative, accountability, and attention to detail.
