    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt; font-weight: bold\">Summary for the 2020-2021 School Year</span><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">:</span><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">  </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">This full-time high school history</span><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\"> teacher is responsible for providing classroom instruction that builds upon the national, state, local, and global history that students have learned in earlier grades. This position helps students to move beyond historical memorization into a critical analysis of historical events. In addition to the historical aspect of instruction, the </span><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">teacher’s role is to help students develop a biblical worldview in all areas of the curriculum and to help them internalize the subject matter, skills, and attitudes that will prepare them for Christian living.  </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">The duties of the Christian school teacher can be both rewarding and challenging.  Classroom sizes are often smaller and more easily managed.  However, the workload is heavier because the teacher is often teaching more material, with fewer prep periods.  Ultimately, this extra work is worthwhile because teaching in a Christian classroom allows the teacher the freedom to address the holistic needs of the child (i.e. spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally).</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">Major Duties</span><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">:</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt; text-decoration: underline\">Curriculum, Subject Content, and Developmental Needs:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">The teacher demonstrates an understanding of the curriculum, subject content, and the developmental needs of students by providing relevant learning experiences.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">Demonstrates knowledge and skills relevant to the subject area(s) taught.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">Effectively addresses appropriate curriculum standards.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">Understands the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development of the age group.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt; text-decoration: underline\">Instructional Planning &amp; Delivery:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">The teacher plans for the use of appropriate curricula, instructional strategies, and resources to address the needs of all students and includes biblical integration.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">Design instruction based upon knowledge of the subject matter, students, and curriculum standards and goals.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">Identifies and plans for the instructional and development needs of all students, including remedial and high achievers.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">Demonstrates the ability to evaluate and refine existing materials and to create new materials when necessary.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">Uses materials, technology, and resources to provide learning experiences that challenge, motivate, and actively involve the learner.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">Demonstrates the ability to engage and maintain students’ attention and to recapture or refocus it as necessary.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt; text-decoration: underline\">Extra-Curricular Activities</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">Accepts a shared responsibility for extra-curricular activities as assigned.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required for the Position</span><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">:</span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">Bachelor’s degree or higher in History of Education.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">Several years of experience working and developing young people (i.e. classroom, tutoring, after school program). </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">Extensive knowledge of historical events and their causes, as well as their effect on today’s culture.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and email.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">Good communication skills and professional personal presentation. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">Must be able to manage sensitive developments regarding staff and students.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">Ability to organize and plan a variety of duties simultaneously.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">Ability to provide specific attention to detail. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">Ability to be flexible and customer-oriented.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">Be a committed Christian with a passion for promoting Christian education and in full agreement and support of the school’s Statement of Faith.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">Additional Requirements</span><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">:</span><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">  </span></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">The Teacher must be one who has received Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and shall be a member in good standing in a church of like faith and practice.  The teacher shall be a person with spiritual, academic, and leadership abilities.  The teacher shall reflect the purpose of the school to honor Christ in every class and activity.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt\">The Teacher shall be a college graduate evaluated by the administration to be capable of giving effective instruction to students at the assigned grade and subject level and called of God to the Christian school teaching profession.  The teacher must seek and maintain certification by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;
