Providers may support one or two adults within their home.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Who We Partner With</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Support Services of Virginia may contract with:<br>&nbsp;&bull; Individuals<br>&nbsp;&bull; Couples or domestic partners<br>&nbsp;&bull; Family households</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Homes with children younger than 12 years old are generally not preferred.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Basic Requirements</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Providers must:<br>&nbsp;&bull; Be at least 21 years old<br>&nbsp;&bull; Have a high school diploma or equivalent<br>&nbsp;&bull; Maintain involvement within the community<br>&nbsp;&bull; Possess six months or more of experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, preferably adults<br>&nbsp;&bull; Be comfortable navigating electronic systems and online communication<br>&nbsp;&bull; Have effective written communication skills</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Applicants lacking required experience may have opportunities to work as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to gain qualifying experience.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Relatives of eligible individuals may become providers; however, additional guidelines apply.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>About the Opportunity</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Sponsored Residential Providers are independent subcontractors working in partnership with SSVA rather than employees.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Providers support the person&rsquo;s day-to-day needs while encouraging personal growth, community engagement, and independence.
