If you thrive on hands-on work, enjoy solving complex electrical problems, and want exposure to industrial- and utility-scale projects, this is your chance to join a growing team that rewards skill, reliability, and initiative.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform testing, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low, medium, and high voltage systems (up to 600 kV)</li>\n <li>Conduct transformer testing (TTR, Doble, insulation resistance, power factor)</li>\n <li>Test protective relays (electromechanical & digital) and calibrate power meters</li>\n <li>Perform cable testing (VLF, Tan Delta, DC Hipot, power factor)</li>\n <li>Inspect and test switchgear, breakers, and automatic transfer switches</li>\n <li>Support start-ups and commissioning of critical electrical systems</li>\n <li>Respond to urgent customer service calls on a rotating on-call schedule</li>\n <li>Accurately collect, document, and analyze test data</li>\n <li>Travel to customer sites across Manitoba (and occasionally out of province)</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum 5+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience, including switchgear, transformers, and protection systems</li>\n <li>Electrical Engineering Technology diploma, Electrical Power & Controls degree, or equivalent hands-on experience</li>\n <li>NETA Certification (I–IV) is highly desired</li>\n <li>Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex electrical environments</li>\n <li>Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Excel, and reporting software (PowerDB a plus)</li>\n <li>Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and adherence to electrical safety procedures</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage priorities, and handle emergency calls</li>\n <li>Flexible and reliable, with the ability to travel (~50%) and work overtime as needed</li>\n <li>Physically capable of performing field work, including lifting (up to 34 kg / 75 lbs), climbing, and working in various environments</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Why Join Shermco Canada</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive pay with overtime opportunities</li>\n <li>Paid training & certification support</li>\n <li>Career growth into senior technical or leadership roles</li>\n <li>Work with cutting-edge electrical testing equipment on high-impact projects</li>\n <li>Supportive team culture and strong safety focus</li>\n <li>Opportunities to work across diverse industrial and utility sites</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Equal Opportunity Employer</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Shermco Canada is committed to an inclusive and accessible workplace.
